Foundation & Concealer
Dark Winter skin is neutral-cool. It ranges from alabaster over cool olive brown to rosy brown and deep black-brown.Foundation and concealer are best when they are matte, smooth, silky and pink-based.
Avoid strongly yellow-based foundations which will clash with your naturally cooler complexion.
Colours: alabaster, almond beige, cool olive brown, cool caramel, deep rose brown, deep black-brown.
Bronzer & Highlighter
Just like Summers, bronzer will look out of place on Winters. Even though you flow from the most bronzy season of all, (Autumn) this isn't a makeup product that will improve your appearance. My recommendation is to skip bronzer altogether.Eyeshadow
Neutral eyeshadow colours are the whites, taupes, greys and browns on the palette. You can also experiment with black for a more dramatic look. For highlight and accent shadows, opt for the purples, blues and greens on your palette. Greyish greens work well and dark purples won't work on you, especially if you have brown eyes.
Your eyes are very intense, so don't overdo the intensity with very dark or bright eye makeup.
Colours: lemon, champagne, apricot, pearl, grey, heather, steel, mint, spruce, olive, aubergine, black brown, chiffon, hazel wood, slate grey, soft umber, chocolate brown, deep brown-black, dark iris, cool aubergine, light azure, teal blue, ocean green, dark sea green.
Mascara
As a Winter, you can wear black mascara without fear as you can pull it off! This colour would be too harsh and intense for any other season, but Winters can handle it without effort. Since you flow from Autumn, you can also pull off deep brown-black mascara.Colours: black, black-brown.
Eyeliner
Eyeliner colours are somewhat similar to the mascaras, just with the addition of chocolate brown, dark grey and the more colourful dark blue. Choose an eyeliner similar to your eyes to really bring them out.Since your eyes have a natural intensity, avoid eyeliner colours that are overly bright.
Colours: aubergine, granite, dark blue, black, black-brown, chocolate brown, dark grey, amethyst.
Blush
Some trial and error may be needed to find the perfect match that will suit your shade. The blush colours will depend on how dark you are. If you are on the lighter side of the Dark Winter spectrum, stick with the lighter blush colours such as raspberry and dark punch. If you are very dark, opt for the darker end of the scale with colours like pale mulberry or pale rasin. But you don't need to get blush perfect, as it isn't the most important part of your makeup routine. Especially since you are a Dark Winter, so make sure that you don't overdo the product when you do intend to use it.
Avoid peachy colours that will clash with your naturally cool complexion.
Colours: bronze, plum, raspberry, dark punch, pale berry red, magenta, pale mulberry, rasin, pale rasin.
Lipstick
This season can get away with deeply intense colours that would make other seasons look like vampires. Dark Winters usually look their best when they let their lips take the centre stage in deep shades such as plum and burgundy. Since your eyes have a natural intensity, a bright lip can balance out your face nicely.Even when you want to create a natural-looking makeup look, avoid a nude lip (skin-colour). This would just look strange on you and your intense appearance. Don't be afraid to go for a deeper shade as this is what will look the most natural on you. If you find them too intense, apply them with a light hand or opt for one of the lighter shades.
But always make sure that you avoid overly warm, orange-based lipstick colours such as coral and copper, as they dull your complexion.
Colours: true red, burgundy, mahogany, plum, soft mauve, deep pink, pale sangria, mulberry, cool plum, rasin.
