We arrived at the hospital shortly after Nash hung up on me.
“Still no text?” Joshua asked as we pulled into a parking spot.
“Nope.” I sighed, unbuckling my seat belt and exiting the car. As we were walking into the hospital, I heard a voice behind me.
“Conor! Wait!” I spun around to face Nash, panting heavily.
“Nash? Oh my god did you run here or something?” I yelled, running over to him.
“Yeah.” He panted.
“Are you okay?” I asked, placing my hand on his back. He swatted away my assistance.
“I’m fine, I’m fine.” He spit on the ground in front of him, barley missing my foot. He finally caught his breath and looked at me. “I came to support you, cause I love you.” He smiled, kissing me gently. Joshua cleared his throat behind us. I blushed and pulled away from Nash.
“Sorry..” I whispered, digging my side into Nash.
“Uh…Let’s just go inside.” Joshua shook his head, turning back to the hospital doors.
“Let’s go.” I sighed, taking Nash’s hand into mine.
“Let’s go.” He echoed, squeezing my hand tighter.
When we arrived at the room, Dr.Shepherd was already waiting for us next to his bed with some other medical assistants. He greeted us with a slight smile.
“Hello Ms.Mabry.” He shook my hand. I nodded my head.
“You can call me Conor.” I invited. “I mean the man who pulls my dad’s life support should ne able to call me by my first name.” I almost whispered. The room had an odd feeling, a dark feeling is you please. The air was harder to breath in, and the light didn’t hit the right places.
“Okay, Conor, you’ve decided to pull the plug?” Dr.Shepherd asked, slightly putting his weight on the bed.
“Yes. We’re pulling the plug.” I confirmed, nodding my head. Joshua looked at me, his face hardening.
“Are you sure?” Joshua and Dr.Shepherd both said at the same time. Nash just stood by the door and waited. I looked back at him for reassurance. He smiled at me, which was more than enough.
“Yes. Positive.” I urged angrily.
“Okay. We’re going to start in about 10 minuets.” Dr.Shepherd generally announced. The crew around him nodded.
“Can we just do it now?” I asked, adding a haunting silence to the room.
“Wh-What?” Joshua asked, stepping towards me. Why is he so upset about this? He was abused too.
“I just want to get it over with.” I announced. Dr.Shepherd nodded.
“This is Dr.Grey,” He gestured to his right side, “She’s going to be here as well.” He introduced.
“Hi.” She shyly waved smiling. Her smile was sweet and warming. The type of smile that sent boys wild. I noticed Dr.Shepherd looking at her with lustful eyes. Does Nash look at me like that? I sighed, knowing I shouldn’t be thinking about Nash right now. I smiled at the two doctors in front of me. They nodded back at me and began to move around the room. To me, they moved in slow motion.
