A COUPLE MONTHS DOWN the line and the girl sat in a hospital bed, looking out the window, watching as the grey sky let go of raindrops,
the female's dull ocean eyes watched two raindrops fall down the glass of the window. her slim body felt weak, the hospital gown that she wore was too oversized,
"emi," dazai's gentle tired voice said, the girl's gaze switching to her lover and sending him a small smile as he sent her a tired one, sitting in his usual chair besides her bed, the female's throat felt drink as he passed her a cup of water, her metal hands taking ahold of the metal cup as she bought it up to her lip, swallowing the liquid down, placing the glass cup on her bedside table, that was full of flowers from the agency, cards wishing her to get better soon.
but everyone knew she was long gone, only a couple of months left on her hands, the girl sent her lover a sad smile, taking ahold of his hand and squeezing it with her fake one, the male looking into her dull eyes but despite that he sent her his softest smile in a while, which sent a small blush to develop on her pale cheeks, which made dazai's smile to brighten more, causing her heart to skip a beat.
"smile like that more" emi spoke gently, her voice barely above a mutter but dazai heard her clearly, getting use to her quiet tone of voice with ease months ago. the male nods "i'll smile for as long as you want!" he said in a bright tone which sent a soft smile to the girl's dry lips.
"miss sakunosuke? a visitor," a nurse the hospital room speaks up, causing emi to turn, her dull ocean eyes turning wide at the sight in front of her.
"hello emi," a soft female voice says, holding a small child in her arms who gazed at emi in interest.
"jade...you're alive" the blonde haired sobbed out, a bright grin spreading over her lips as tears flow down her cheeks at the sight of the female she missed so dearly, the female soon saw chuuya leaned back against the wall near the room door, sending her a small smile as he took his hat off his hat "you too chuuya..." the blonde haired muttered out, a quiet chuckle slipping past her lips.
"and who's this little guy?" the blonde haired reached her weak hand towards the child that jade sat down on the hospital bed with, the small baby taking ahold of emi's metallic finger, which caused dazai's heart to ache as his head began to think,
if the two had a hope of a future would emi want children? would she want to grow old with him if she could?
"his name is odasaku," jade mutters out, a sad smile developing on her lips, a lump developed in emi's throat, as she stared at the blue eyes baby in jade's hand, a soft smile developing on her lips "hello odasaku," she chokes out, tears freely running down her pale cheeks, as the little child played around with her finger, the female covering her mouth with her other hand as she kept in a sob,
chuuya's heart ached, he left his old work partners to deal with such burden to run off to his lover, he wished he was here to help dazai with emi, despite their tough friendship
"thank you...so much." emi chokes out, "he's beautiful really," she adds with a soft smile on her tired expression, jade's sad face admired emi's, dark eyes bags under her dull and tear filled eyes, her body skinner both, her tanned skin now pale and the freckles on her face were faded, masking in with the paleness of her face.
