Chapter 9 - A Friend Indeed -

"What?" I said, not bothering to keep to my self any more. "We were being chased by these guards that wanted us to give them back something, and we came here." the girl said. "What is that something?" I said. I didn't like how secretive they were being. "Can't tell you. I don't even know your names." "We could say the same about you. But anyway, I'm Alec, and she's my sister Abigail. Or Abby." I countered. "Well then, I'm Quinntin, or Quinn, and she's Olivia. We're homeless, orphans and have a way of acquiring things that don't necessarily belong to us. Anything else you want to know?" Quinn said. "Nope. Now what exactly do you want us to do?" I said, still confused. "Just chat up the guards down in the lobby so we can escape, then you guys can do whatever your little hearts desire." Quinn had a way with words. It made me have a sort of respect for him, and at the same time, want to punch him in the face. "What makes you think that we'll help you?" Alexa said. "We'll knock you both unconscious and tie you to the chair for the guards to find. So what do you say?" Quinn asked, not like it was a question, which made me really lean towards the punching him in the face. But I decided to just say, "Okay,  so when do we do it-" Right as I finished, we got a knock on the door. "Now." Quinn said. Again, super close to punching him in the face. They were out of the room in two seconds. We closed the window and said "Come In!" Two guards entered, looked around the room. "You two don't seem to surprised to see some random guards checking your room?" the first guard said, taking a step closer to us. "After all that we've seen, we're not really surprised by much." Alexa said. It was true, so /i could keep a strait face when they stared at us intently. "Herald, aren't we looking for two young kids? In fact, a boy and a girl if memory serves me right." the second guard said. "Yea Ginty, we are." the guy named Herald said. "Why don't you two follow me." Ginty said. "Sure." I said with a small voice, and we followed them down the hall. Once we were outside, we saw Quinn and Olivia on the other side of the street. "You see them, right?" Alexa whispered to me. "Yea." I said. I looked over at them, and Quinn winked. That made me lose it. One second, the four guards were surrounding us, and the next, they were on the floor unconscious. I grabbed Alexa and walked strait towards them. My vision was red and blurry, but I could feel the terror in their eyes as I walked towards them. I raised my hand, and then I passed out.
