You never really got used to darkness. It was just too much to get used to it. Or, that's how it felt for Gwen. You see, I wasn't afraid of the dark, it just, I didn't like the closed feeling around her.
That's what it felt like at the moment. It was closing in on her. But, I continued on through the damp, smelly alleys, where she obviously knew she shouldn't be.
Though, if someone did try to attack her, she was positive they would run away in fear. She was horrendous looking. Well, in the puddle she passed a while back showed her that. And that had just been the reflection in water. But, from what she had seen, her hair was a tangled and dirt filled mess, her face was blotchy red from her crying session, and her clothes? Heavy from the water dripping off them and there was a faint bloody spot forming on her knee where she had tripped on a rock.
I wanted food and warmth. Unconsciously, my mind kept wandering to the place that had both that, and so many other amazing things. But I wouldn't go back. Even if I could. Which, I doubted I could even do. She didn't even know where the hell she was.
"Come on Gwen...come on..." Was what she kept muttering to herself.
Something hit her on the head....
Nothing painful of course. It was cold. She turned her head to the sky in wonder.
"OH GREAT!" She yelled.
Just her luck. Dark shifting clouds had formed in the sky, dropping cold beads of water onto the earth. She cursed.
Trying to ignore it, she pulled the hood of the sweater over her hair and marched on.
In situations like this, you being to think about things that mean a lot to you, why you did certain things, and the people around you. Gwen started thinking about all of those.
Why did I cheat on my math test?
I wonder what mom and dad are doing right now.
I hope that my cousin wasn't really mad at me for breaking her soccer trophy.
Why didn't I get that cute shirt at the mall?
Stupid things, yes. But they were important to her. Made her continue on maybe? She didn't really ask that question in her head. It didn't come up.
Did I deserve all of this?
Her mind took a mental pause at that question. Did she? In truth, she couldn't think of what she would have done to do this.
Then why did they take you?
"I don't...know..." She whispered to herself.
Well maybe you should find out!
That really got her thinking. And it was like a bug burrowing into her brain, laying its eggs. Now, she felt the need to find out why they did this to her. What could have been the reason?!
She screamed to herself. In her mind of course, she didn't want to draw any attention to her.
A droplet of water hit her cheek, cooling her face.
Maybe....

Now don't be freaked out...I kind of switched to third person POV just to try it out.
I don't know how I feel about it yet...what do you think?
And if no one cares then w.e ^.^
