Minutes passed by and I have seem to realize something about him. No matter how calm and quiet he would appear, his eyes and face were something that I never noticed before.
His eyes were golden like the sun.
They shimmered like ripe honey. His short brown hair flows as if the wind was brushing it for him. It's almost as if he was like a prince from a fairytale I read as a child.
While the earrings were one I could let things slide, the only thing that made me curious the most was his lips. Even though his mask was covering it, I was always curious as to why he had it covered. Normally, if a person wanted to cover his face, it was to conceal an identity of himself. So why his lips? Why not his golden eyes? Or on the side of a face?
Suddenly, he stopped walking as I continued to stare.
"Do you have something you want to say?" he asked abruptly. "it is rude to stare at people after all."
"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to! It's just..."With one deep breath, you told him exactly what was on your mind.
"I couldn't help but to look at your face."
"What about my face you seem to be amused with?"
"It's just beautiful. That's all."
"My face isn't beautiful. It's revolting to look upon."
"Revolt-Why is it revolting?"
"This world is so unclean. My body isn't capable of feeling things that are impure. If it gets touched by those disgusting germs, I break out easily."
"Is that why you wear the mask?"
"Yes."I sighed in relief. For a moment, I thought he was going to say-
"Besides, no one wants to be with a heartless human like me anyways."
Never mind. my mind responded. He went there.
"I am not going to let you say bad things like that about yourself, sir!"
"It is the truth. No person will want someone who has no heart to give."
"If that's the case, why take me to my destination? Anyone without a heart would've done worse things."He started to walk away as I rambled on.
"Personally, you are a beautiful person. Never think about yourself like that."
No response came from his mask as he pursued forward. No matter how hard I tried to persuade him, it didn't help me rest my case with him. Then, an idea just hit me. I looked around and tried to find someway to show it to him instead of telling. While he continued to walk, I started to fly with my wings away from him for a moment.
"Now where is she going?" he thought mindlessly as I entered inside a store.
He walked towards the same direction I was going and realized the store I entered was a mirror store. No matter how hard things went, it was hard to look at himself in a mirror. He started to recall things that made him upset and crouched down towards the ground. Realizing that it made things worse, I walked out from the store and stood right next to him.
"I'm sorry. I took things too far. I just wanted to show you how beautiful you are as an individual. I didn't think of your wellbeing."
Workout thinking, I came close to him and hugged his body. Expecting his skin to break out because of my "impure" skin, he tried to push me away. However, no matter how long he tried, I couldn't let him go. He glanced at his gloves and noticed something very strange. His skin wasn't breaking as he expected to be. It was normal. After a couple of minutes, I released him from my hug and looked at him in the face.
"From now on, whenever you feel bad about yourself, please don't say those things whenever I'm here. It makes me sad when you do. Okay?"
Kai only glanced at her golden eyes when she spoke. It was nothing he had ever seen up close before. While his villainous ways would've killed me right on the spot because I touched him, that thought never came through. He was more surprised than ever. No one ever considered his feeling before, apart from his right hand man. He simply sighed and nodded.
"Fine. Whatever. I won't say things bad about myself."
"That's good to hear." I said with a smile.Even though my heart could've played its tricks on me, I could've sworn he was blushing underneath his mask. Was he embarrassed? Did he like my smile or something? Whichever the case, I at least was able to calm him down about doubting himself.
"Shall we continue?" he asked as he rose from the ground.
"Uh... yeah. We should."We both continued onward as my heart started to beat so fast.
What is this feeling? I asked to myself. I never felt this way before. I'm suppose to be a hero: a hero who should feel any emotions around others. Sir Nighteye always told me it would be a waste of time if I had feelings for anyone. Then why? Why do I feel like this when I'm with him?

Meanwhile, Sir Nighteye waits near the radio, as Mirio tries his best to find me in the streets.
"Chisaki Kai." He growled. "If you ever lay a single hand on her, there's going to be hell to pay!"
He grabbed the radio and called out to Mirio for any updates. So far, he hasn't found my location as of yet.
"Keep looking, Mirio." he ordered.
"Yes, Sir." he answered. The radio was returned back to its original place as he glanced at the windows again. He then noticed two people: a father and daughter, walking side by side with a smile on their face. A sigh came out of Sir Nighteye's lips when he recalled a memory from his past.
~ FLASHBACK ~
He and I were in the agency, practicing my quirk in secret. From what he has told me as a child, my quirk is special and is meant to help for good of mankind. As a kid, he was always proud of me learning new abilities and doing my best. However, as time went on, no matter how hard I try, I was always tired from all his special training.
"A hero never rests until the job's complete, Y/N." he mentioned one day as I snooze during training.
"But I wasn't resting, sir." I replied as my quirk tried to recover.
"Then why aren't you practicing?"
"Because... I'm... thinking... of um..."
"Don't even try to lie to me. I already foresaw every excuse-"
"From the future. I know. You don't have to remind me every time I don't meet your expectations, sir."
"Then shall we try again? You have three minutes to get this stamp away from my hand."And just like that, three minutes passed and I was still not fast enough to grab the stamp from his hand.
"You still have a lot to learn, Y/N. You need to practice harder until you become the greatest hero in history!"
"Okay, let me stop you right there, Sir Nighteye." I interrupted, "I do my best every single time and no matter what I do, you want me to be the next symbol of peace or the next #1 hero. Look. I'm not your protégé and I will never be. So, instead of wasting any of our time, I say we're done here."
"Get back here, young lady! We're not finished with your training!"
"Well, I'm done!"I slammed the door of his office and never entered since.
~FLASHBACK ENDS~
He sighs as he recalls the vision from earlier.
"You may believe you aren't worth becoming a great hero," he thought carefully as he waits for answers, "but I'm not going to let you destroy yourself, my daughter."
