After Everything We Did

All Alone

The weeks rolled on and Hiccup continued his work in the village as chief but his dreams were filled with nightmares and he would occasionally think he is seeing Astrid around the village in random places but as soon as he gets a closer look she disappears with what sounds like her screams of not fear but pain and agony and he can feel what is like a blade through his heart

He didn't really want to send her away but she cheated in him and got pregnant with another man, he goes home everyday and looks at the empty side of his king sized bed and every time he does he can see the first time Astrid sneaked in and slept with him "I hope she's okay, she must hate me for what I've done" he sighed heavily "I banished her, never giving her a chance to explain and I killed her baby....I did that, what monster have I become" he sobbed as he sat on the edge of his bed and put his head in his hands

He soon stopped the water works when he heard a soft purr next to him, he looked up and saw Toothless looking at him with sad worried eyes "I'm okay bud....just....not happy with my actions" he said as he patted his head and started to take off his armour and go to sleep

"I miss you Astrid, I hope you still love me enough to forgive me" he thought and slowly drifted off into a deep slumber

He woke up in the middle of the night breathing heavily and sweating quite alot, he just had another nightmare about Astrid, thunder clapped outside his house and echoed through the sky, Hiccup decided to go to the great hall for a drink....or ten

He got up out his bed and put his armour on and then walked out the door heading for the stairs to the great hall for a drink, when he arrived he was greeted by friendly faces that was his friends, he walked over and took a seat with them "you guys having trouble sleeping too huh?" he said and try all nodded and sighed "let me guess, you saw someone you deeply love and care for in grave danger" he said then everyone looked at him with shocked expressions on their faces "what?" He asked

"We all did have that kind of nightmare Hiccup" Fishlegs said "we were all talking about it just as you came in" Hiccup looked at them all in confusion raising his eyebrow "who was it about?" Hiccup asked getting more tense by the second, then Snotlout spoke up "Hiccup, we all had the same dream about........Astrid, we saw her laying on the floor with blood all over her body"

Hiccup's eyes went wider than boulders "NO IT WASN'T YOU IDIOT" Ruffnut yelled at him and Hiccup let out a breath of relief "we all saw her......sleeping with Dagur" she said, and Hiccup's heart broke and melted out his chest "it was a dream guys, it's not real" he said as he took a mouth full of mead

"Hiccup, can I talk to you" Ruffnut said as she stood up and walked to an area where they wouldn't be heard, Hiccup sighed as he stood up and followed her, Hiccup found her and said "what do you want?" Ruffnut sighed and said "I know you miss her, you miss Astrid" Hiccup flinched at her name being mentioned and felt a thousand punches to the face for what he did

"Yes, I do....but I can't bring her back Ruff, I dot know where she is" he then looked back to the others who were talking amongst themselves, he missed it when he and Astrid would talk like that "you can still find her Hiccup, you have her cloths from when you were younger don't you and Toothless can track her down easily, go find her and bring her home" she said as she smiled at him

Hiccup then raised his head from all his shame and Ruffnut saw her old chief back again, but Hiccup then saw her again, he could see Astrid standing behind Ruffnut smiling, all the other times he saw her she looked scared and worried but this time was different, this time he looked happy and not scared at all

"I see her" he gasped "what?" Ruffnut said "its Astrid, I can see her Ruff she is standing right behind you" Hiccup said happily but as soon as Ruffnut turned around Astrid faded away waving and smiling "she's not gone, she's still somewhere and I'm going to find her" Hiccup said as he called Toothless who came to his side like lightning and he took off into the sky

He didnt care if he had to search for a thousand years to find her he just wanted to find her and that's what he was going to do

Let no one get in your way
Let nothing stop you
Be brave and be feared
Be strong be tough
Be unstoppable

All this repeated in Hiccups mind over and over again and never stopped, it was all he could think about

He had to save Astrid, even if it meant death
