After Everything We Did

Attempt and Fail

Eret was walking through the forest looking for Astrid, he knows she has gone to train in her favourite spot but where is it "AHHHH!" he screams as an axe nearly cuts his head off "oh my gods, Eret are you okay?" Astrid says running over, Eret steadies his breathing and calms his nerves "yeah fine, just startled" he said, Astrid pulls her axe out the tree and smiles at him and he smiled back at her, then out of the blue, Astrid gets a surge of pain through her head making her unsteady on her feat and causes her to stumble and fall to the floor

Astrid falls to the floor and Eret just watches as she collapses to the ground and closes her eyes, he rushes over and kneels down beside her, he places his ear to her chest and thank gods he hears a heart beat

*thump thump thump*

Eret sighs in relief and suddenly realises as he looks around, no one else is around "this could be a perfect chance for my offspring" he mutters to himself and grins

He reaches for her skirt and grips it, and starts to tug at it "ASTRID!" a voice screams, Eret snaps his head up to see Ruffnut sprinting towards him "uh oh I'm dead" he thought, she must have seen what he was doing, Ruffnut runs to her friend as kneels beside her "oh not again" she wines "what?" Eret says "oh yeah, when ever she trains hard enough she will have a headache and knock her self out just like a baby falling asleep, then she wakes up the next day with a small ache but she'll be fine" he says as she picks Astrid up bridal style and carries her back to the village

"Damn it" Eret curses

The next day Astrid is back on her feet and happier than ever, she goes to the mead hall and has a drink with her breakfast

Weird?.....she never has breakfast.

Eret is sitting at a table with some food and a drink when Astrid sits with him "hey" she greets him "hi Astrid" he replies "so how you feeling today?" he asks "much better" Astrid says with a mouth full of meat "I just needed a good sleep really, oh I'm going to Gothi's next week to find out about if mine and Hiccup's attempt for a baby was a success, can you come with me? I don't want Hiccup to find out yet" she asked him with an innocent little smile on her face

"Uhm sure I can come" he said, he knows if the results come back positive his plan would be ruined "great, meet me at my place Thorsday morning, got it?" she asked "yeah, Thorsday at your place" he repeated, Astrid then finished her meat and chugged the rest of her mead down and wen she was done she slammed the mug back down on the table "oh that one was strong" she said wincing a little and coughing "ill see you later Eret" she said standing up and almost falling back down

"Hold on, let me walk you home" he said placing a hand on her shoulder "thanks" she said in a slurry voice and the two walked home,Astrid fell over and stumble a few times but she kept walking all the way back to her house

When they arrived Astrid had sobered a tiny bit "thanks Eret" Astrid said "no problem, you sure you're going to be okay?" he said "yeah ill be fine" she replied then it happened, they found themselves staring into each others eyes, lost in space and soon were leaning in towards each other, their lips were so close

SQUAK!

"oh hey Stormfly" Astrid said as she scratched the dragons chin "you want some chicken?" Stormfly squaked happily and wagged her tail "okay then, come on and let's eat, bye Eret" she said as she walked away, "stupid dragon" he mumbled

/day of the test\

Eret waits outside Astrid's house for her to come out, eventually she does and ready for the test "lets go" she said excited "come on then" Eret says and they walk away towards Gothi's hut which is all the way at the top of Berk mountain "you have go to be kidding me" Eret moaned "oh come on Eret, a little exercise never hurts you" Astrid said and starts to climb the steps with Eret right behind her enjoying the view he was getting

After a good hour they arrived and Eret was actually crawling up the stairs behind her "Gothi?" Astrid called out as she knocked on the door, then the door opened and a small old lady peered out looking at the two and gestured for them to come inside

They walked inside and Astrid sat on a bed while Gothi told Eret to wait in the other room for patient privacy, Eret respectfully agreed and walked into the other room and waited for the results

After an hour passed Gothi and Astrid came into the room where Eret had been patiently waiting, Astrid took a seat next to Eret and looked to Gothi, she took her staph and began to write in the sand "she says it's too early yet to tell so come back next month to see if it's positive but remember if you work to hard you will kill this baby" he translated

Astrid gasped and her smile turned into a frown of fear "rest for now and be extremely careful" Eret said as he watched her draw in the sand "thank you Gothi, ill see you again next month" Astid said softly as she stood up and walked out the door with Eret close behind her

"I can't believe it, if I do what I love I can kill my baby, well i'll just have to deal with it, I am not losing this baby" she said as she placed a hand on her abdomen and sighs

When they arrive back at her home Astrid was sobbing softly and trying her hardest not to cry "how about I come in, I make a real good fish stew?" he offered, Astrid smiled at him and nodded "I'd like that Eret, thank you" she said as she walked to her door and opened it, Eret walked inside and she followed after him shutting the door behind them

"So how about that stew I mentioned" Eret said, Astrid nodded and said "ill be waiting upstairs in my bed, just bring it up to me when it's done" she said, Eret nodded and set to work making and Astrid went upstairs to bed to rest "I'm really glad Eret helped me today, I would've asked hiccup but he is chiefing" she thought to herself "I needed Eret with me, he has been really helpful and pretty cute....wait what?"

Eret was making the finishing touches to the food and soon it was finished and it looked amazing he took it up and with a smile presented it to Astrid "here you go" he said "thanks, just put it on the desk over there" she said and Eret did as she said "what's Hiccup going to say, what if he gets mad at me, what will he do if I lose the baby?" Eret sat on the edge of her bed and held her hands "he won't be mad Astrid, if anything he will be supportive through out the whole nine months" he said giving her a warming smile

Astrid returned it and after a while it happened again, they locked their eyes on each other and soon found themselves getting closer to each other and closer
