CHAPTER ONE...

“Hey Enny, are you coming to the party tomorrow night?” Enny’s best friend, Sasha asked as she and Enny walked down their school hallway.

“Um, I’m not sure. I’ve got to ask my parents.” Enny replied as they approached their lockers which were side by side.

“Wait. So you haven’t told your parents yet? Enny! Do you even want to go? But you have to. I can’t go alone! I barely know people there. You’ve got to come.” Sasha replied panicking.

“I want to go but I just have to ask my parents first. That’s not hard. I’m pretty sure they’ll let me go.” Replied Enny as she turned to open her locker.

“Ugh. It’s Rachel Baker.” Sasha said as if disgusted.

“Who?  Enny asked turning to look at Sasha.

“Rachel Baker, the leader of the girls’ badminton team and most popular girl at our school.”

“More like the miss diva of Westaisle High?” Enny added as she looked at Rachel from head to toe, admiring the way she dressed in her white designer pants and really fancy pink shirt.

“What are you looking at, minger?” Rachel stopped by Enny and Sasha and her friends laughed at Enny’s face reaction.

Enny turned her face towards her locker and pretended not to be listening to Rachel.

“You look at Rachel when she’s talking to you.” One of Rachel’s friends said with a serious face as the other girls kept laughing.

“Nothing, I’m not looking at anything.” Enny replied as she put her books in her locker and locked it.

“Hey Sasha, teach your friend some manners okay, Common girls.” Rachel rudely replied and cat walked away. All the other girls followed.

“You know her?” Enny asked her friend as they walked out the school doors.

“Not really, I tried out for badminton but Rachel kicked me off the team, she said I wasn’t good and you’ve seen me play? I mean if there’s only one sport I’m good at, it’s definitely that.” She replied in annoyance.

“Well, I sure judged her too soon. I taught she was nice but not really.” Enny said as they got on the school bus heading home.

“I hate her, many people hate her. You haven’t seen anything. She’s in my class and I think she has this magical way of making boys like her...even the nerds. She makes them do her homework and projects.” Sasha said in an angry tone.

“Whoa. How does she do her exams though?”

“I’m not sure but probably she cheats or pays for a good grade. Her father is so rich that she never wears a same shoe twice, she throws it out. I hate her!”

The bus stopped and they both got out.

          “Thanks, bye”

          “Bye”

“Well don’t forget to ask your parents!” Sasha yelled as she ran home.

“I won’t! Text me okay?” Enny replied as she also ran towards her house door.

They both got into their house. Enny went to her room and put on her laptop to continue her writing about a boy she made up. That’s her hobby.

“Enny? Won’t you come down stairs for dinner? Your father will soon be back from work, he said he got an email for you okay?” Enny’s mum yelled to Enny in her room.

“Not hungry mum, thanks. I got to talk to you about something.” Enny opened the door and ran down the stairs.

“No running on the stairs sweety.” Her mum said as she set the table for dinner.

“Mum? We are having a dance at my school and-

“And you want to go? Sure sweety.” Her mum interrupted her.

“Oh thanks mum...how did you know?”

“I know that face you make when you want a favour and I saw your dress all clean on your bed this morning and so I figured it out myself.” Her mum replied and smiled at her. “Just eat dinner before you go back upstairs and I don’t see you again till morning.” Her mum laughed and passed her a plate and a fork.

Enny smiled back at her mum, sat down and said in her mind how much she loved how her mum thinks.

The doorbell rang.

“I’ll get it!” Enny screamed and ran to the door.

“Stop running, one day you will trip and fall-“

          Enny interrupted

          “Welcome dad! How was work?”

“Hey Enny. Work was really good and I picked up your books at the library.” Her dad replied as he handed her three of her favourite novel collection.

“Oh yay, thanks dad.” Enny was excited. “Mum said you had an e-mail for me?”

“It’s about a provincial art contest coming up in four days and I think you should join. Your art skills are amazing.” Her father said as he sat down at the table getting ready to eat his dinner.

“Oh really? That’s awesome! I want to join! I’m going to sign up right now.” Enny replied twice as excited as she was before.

“After dinner sweety.” Her mum said and joined them on the table.
