Text seventeen.

To Lucien, his universe had stopped spinning, his heart had stopped beating when he saw her close her eyes and fall to her knees.

He told himself no matter how happy he was to get those words off his chest minutes before, he would trade for the circumstances to just be a nightmare. He would have rather had the moment be about an obscure matter, a random bicker, anything at all but not this.

But then again, life was full of trials, that dragged you down and now he was down and he hated how he got down.

"Francis, have you asked the doctors to meet us there." He inquired

"Sir, I have informed them." Francis answered him. "Young master, she will be fine." Lucien couldn't reply. He was scared of losing her.

He gazed at her usually colourful face that was now bare and pale. She was abnormally cold, even with the duvet she was wrapped in, still her hands were literally ice cubes.

"Francis, do one more thing; write an express to Veronica. Tell her that the debt she owes, it's time to pay back."

Francis bowed and left.

He pecked her knuckles and mumbles. "Fight with everything you've got mi amor, cause I be waiting for you."

Queen Melanie had never seen her son like this. His was stone faced but she knew him well to know it was just a facade. On the inside, he was lost, broken as he paced a hole into the living room not being able to be in the same room as the women he loved that was currently fighting for her life.

"Son, stop."

He continued pacing, not even giving her a glance. "Emiliano!!!" His mother roared in annoyance. His eyes immediately snapped to hers.

"Stop." She mumbled softly.

"Mother… I can’t let her die."

"Nothing will happen to her."

"WHERE IS HE?!" Both eyes snapped towards the door where heavy footsteps thundered towards.

Rico came into view, rage and anger pooling out of him in waves.

"I warned you, Sinclair." He threw a punch which Lucien willingly accepted.

"Enough." Queen Melanie stated with finality. "Ricardo, please watch yourself. My son isn't at fault so stop with the burst of emotions. She wouldn't want you both fighting."

"What is wrong with her?"

"Our physicians are on it."

"Well then, my sister should be up by now if they're competent enough. But obviously, that isn't the case. I'll have her transferred by tomorrow."

"Absolutely not!!!"

"You're the reason she's in this mess, you didn't protect her."

"Maybe, you're right but she is staying here. Feel free to visit."

"Sinclair…

"Denmark." He retorted. "She is my responsibility, my intended. Nothing can changed that fact."

"You're not bonded yet, I can still find someone…"

"Finish that statement and I make it your very last with limbs intact."

"Gentlemen!!!" The Queen called them to order.

A soldier came in an informed the queen of an important matter that request her urgent attention.

She left but not before throwing the both Lucien and Ricardo a look that clearly spelt 'behave'.

The atmosphere was tense and sad, the gravity of the situation falling on their shoulder. A sister to Ricardo and the owner of his heart to Lucien, she was important to both of them and as such they would do anything to ensure her survival.

Before either could utter a word, the doctor finally came out.

"Doc., how is she, will she be okay?" Lucien asked worriedly

The doctor's gloomy face said it all. The situation wasn't pretty. "I am sorry your highness but, as it is there is nothing I can do for her. She is unresponsive to treatment and I fear she is at a grave and terminal state. But if I may speak?"

"Go ahead doctor." He said agitated.

"This has magic origin from the visible symptoms so…"

"We'll need a witch to cure it. Where do we find a witch?" Ricardo inquired.

"I have asked Francis to get one. They should be here soon." He said as he ran a hand through his hair.

"Is she stable for now, doc…"

A nurse with a horror stricken face threw the door open before he could complete his statement.

"Doctor, come quickly!!!" She said rearranging her words when she noticed him.

"What's wrong with her?" He asked her. "I won't repeat myself again, tell me, what is wrong with my queen?!" All traces of warmth were gone as he stared at her with steeled eyes.

"Your… your highness, the...the patient's heart has stopped."

Lucien lost his mind.
