I open my eyes. I see Rye smiling at me. It's 6:45 Peeta is already at the bakery. Rye and I get out of bed. I wake Josie up. I then make us breakfast. After they're done I dress them. I put Rye in his favorite overalls and white shirt. Then I pick out jeans and a gray sweater for Josie. I put her hair in two braids without ribbons. It is Monday so, I take the kids to school. Josie is in sixth grade. Rye is only three. He goes to a preschool that is pretty much like a day care.

After I'm done taking the kids to school. I go back home to wash the breakfast dishes. Then I walk over to our bakery. We live in Peeta's Victor's Village house. After my sister passed away I couldn't bear to be in it. We did do a little painting and renovating to it because it wasn't homey and decorated like a stupid Capitol person's. Our house is close to the bakery. Our bakery is blue. There is a sign that says "Mellark Bakery" on it. There is a big window that displays bread and cake. The bakery smells like heaven. I try to help out the much I can. But, I can't bake. I can't ice cakes or cookies. I normally have to work the cash registers, wash the windows, or clean the dirty dishes

"Hey honey." Peeta says when I walk in.

I say hi to him and the other bakers. We have 2 other bakers. Celise, a short lady with brown curls who's 34, specializes with pastry decorating. We also have James, a tall blonde who's 18. He helps bake the bread.

I ask them "Got anything for me to do?" Peeta points to a sink full of dirty baking pans. I frown and sigh. I put on my white apron, turn the water on, and start washing the pans. Fifteen minutes later I finish. Then our daily crowd comes. I run the cash register. I ring up ten people's bread and four people's cookies. Then Effie and Haymitch walk in.

"We finally picked out a wedding date!" Effie says.

"What's the date?" I ask.

"This Saturday. I know! It's sudden but we've waited this long so why wait?" Haymitch says. He is still holding her hand.

Peeta smiles and says "I bet you need a cake."

"Indeed we do." Effie says, "I would like it to be five layers with white icing and sugar flower petals."

Peeta scribbles down something on a peice of paper. He asks "What's the budget?"

Effie raises one eyebrow at Haymitch. He says "Oh, money is no option." Effie smiles and looks satisfied.

Peeta holds up the piece of paper. There is a sketch of a beautiful wedding cake on it. "Magnificent! Now if you don't mind I am going to make some invitations. Peeta, be there at 4:00 on Saturday to set it up. Haymitch would like you to be his best man. Ryan and Josie can be ring bearer and flower girl. Katniss, I'd love for you to be a bridesmaid. Oh my! This is so exciting! Goodbye." Effie says. She leaves and Haymitch stays.

"Bridezilla" I mumble under my breath.

"What is the price for the cake?" He asks.

"It will be half off since you're basically family." I say before Peeta can say anything.

"Katniss." Peeta says through his teeth. I elbow him in the stomach.

Haymitch looks relieved. He says "Thank goodness. Bye." and walks out. I can tell Peeta is a little mad but, I know Effie wants a big ceremony and that cake would have been about all he has. Mainly because he spent all his money on liquor
