The next morning, I felt myself awaken in the comforts of my own soft white bed. This is the part I really liked about being a princess. I could do what I liked, when I liked. That meant if I wanted to, I could sleep all day long. At least that's what I thought. But apparently, being a princess was actually a job. How deceptive the world was. It meant being nice to the people you really did not like and acting as if you loved them. In other words, it meant 'sucking up' to the person. Believe me, it was not the most enjoyable thing to do, especially when the person you were sucking up to was some eighty year old man who could barley talk, let alone walk! Being a princess was a glamorous dream which was a bitter reality.

But I did not hate being a princess. I quit liked the respect and attention I got from the little girls. They were so cute! Mainly because I was like that at one point but then I actually turned out to be one. Who knew? But the bad part was, I had to be perfect all the time! I did not undersatand why that was so. Humans were imperfect. That was what made us imortal. So why was it that our leaders had to be flawless? This is why, being Caroline Fiala was so much more refreshing. Thus, I loved speaking to anyone who knew her.. anyone except Valarie Arlington. Do not get me wrong, I loved meeting new people, making friends and basically the whole concept of socializing but for some reason, ever since I joint Cordeliers that day, I had been getting this feeling that she hated me. I would have loved to stop her and ask but I knew that I should not. Thus, I never did but I longed to know. I was not one of those insecure little girls who simply could not stand the fact that someone disliked them. No. I was simply bothered because I just could not believe that someone could hate you without knowing you. I simply could not accept that and I doubt anyone could.

With a sigh, I broke away from my thoughts. I was too flustered.. to bothered. I had been perfectly fine before I met Luke again. I had accepted my decicion and that was it. There was no furthur debate on it- I chose Robert over Luke. I chose my country over myself. I chose my sister over me. But seeing him made me question all if that again. Gosh, I felt so cheap. I had choosen one person so why could I just not move on? I liked Robert but I could never love him. Why? Simple, because love was not thrust upon or forced. It was grown, and cared for. It was allowed to mature, like a bottle of the best wine. Now, I had enough. I wanted a break. I wanted my solace and there was only one thing to do in times like this- forgive and forget or in my world- watch some amazingly hillarious movies!

With a grin stretching across my face, I quickly reached for my 72 inch televison remote and flipped it on, quickly flipping through the channels. I could see a few televison series like Gossip Girl which I did actually like but did not want to see as of now. The other things on televison werethe usuals- news, sports and the movies- some cliche, some unpredictable and some simply stunning. After a long tiersome debate with myself, I chose a movie, a chiche really which helped me remeber why I had chosen Robert in the first place. Every aspect of the movie reminded me of my own life. It was one of those typical high school movies where the populas slash hot stereotype always fell for the shy and quiet girl. Such movies simply annoyed me. They were so trypical and that was so repulsing. I would rather watch a physiological thriller like Black Swan. Unfortunetly though, none of them were broadcasted in the afternoon. Thus, I was stuck watching this movie.

The protagonist, if that is what I should call him, was the typical sportsmen who excelled at sports but not so much when it came to his acedemics. The leading lady was the new transfer student, still quiet and shy and the antagonist was the scheeming popular girl desperatley wanting the company of the protaginist. Watching the movie for simply five minutes, I could already predict the end. The leading lady would end up with the protagonist and they would live the cliche 'happily ever after' while the antagonist would be publically shamed infront of her peers. This was so cliche, repulsing and actually offensive! Why did the movies potray the female characters fighting to win the affections of the male. It reinforced the fake idea of female inferority and weakness. When it was the other way around, the female in the center of attention was often called rude names. This was so wrong and that is why I hated them. But, they did play out every aspect of my life. Well, most of them anyways.
