winwin had left the hospital briefly to get his motorcycle so that he could drive keni home himself. he rejected the other boys' help, wanting to take care of her himself.
he wanted to feel her arms around his waist because he still was shaken up by the way she had gotten shot. her physical touch would hopefully make him feel more secure.
he grabbed his keys and headed off to the courtyard to take his motorcycle out.
revving the engine and pulling on his helmet, he took deep breaths to stable himself. he saw some of the other boys staring at him through the house's windows, probably wondering why he was so shaky.
but they didn't understand what it was like to be in love. winwin knew fully well that his promise to the president that keni would never get hurt, was a lie. it was inevitable in their profession.
in the life they lived, it was to either kill or get killed. there wasn't a middle ground. winwin shuddered, imagining a day where he or keni might have to leave each other alone in this cruel life.
he shook his head, banishing the thought and focused on how he could make it up to keni after being such an asshole to her when they had first met.
he steered his bike onto the highway and was too busy speeding up to notice the black van that was tailing him.
although winwin was gliding through the road, practically flying at how fast he was traveling, the van was traveling even faster, determined to edge up on him.
if he wasn't so occupied with his thoughts he definitely would've noticed and veered away, but he was too busy focusing on getting to keni as quick as possible. he didn't want her to be all alone in the hospital for too long.
the car rammed into his bike from the side, sending him flying into the railing of the highway.
either the other drivers on the road didn't care or they were scared away by the burly-looking henchmen that were exiting the van and standing in a line in front of winwin.
they all pointed their guns at him as he groaned in pain, his head throbbing from the impact and his body all scratched up.
the front window of the van rolled down and chen liu smiled wickedly down at winwin, "hello there dear!" she said in a perky voice.
winwin spat on the ground glaring at the woman, "what the fuck do you want, you witch."
chen liu stopped smiling, her eyes twitching at a scary pace. she motioned to her men and they hoisted winwin up and chucked him into the van painfully.

keni woke up with a jolt. she had a terrible feeling that something bad had happened and she looked frantically around herself, only to find that she was in winwin's room.
she frowned, not remembering how she had gotten back home.
she remembered winwin telling her that he would pick her up and then she fell asleep waiting for him. she even remembered grumbling about how he was taking his sweet time before closing her eyes in a fit of tiredness.
a knock sounded at the bedroom door and keni perked up, "you can come in you know, its your room," she said, assuming that it was winwin.
kun entered, looking at her with pity, "hey keni."
keni frowned,"where's winwin, where'd he go after he took me home?"
kun shook his head, "he didn't take you home, i did."
"w-what? why?"
kun took a shaky deep breath, "winwin set up to go pick you up... but he went missing."
keni yanked the covers away from her and she tried to stand up, almost forgetting about her wound.
kun pushed her back down gently, "we'll find him keni, it'll be fine," he left the room abruptly after jisung had called him from downstairs.
"no it's not," keni said to herself, tears pouring to her eyes.
it seemed like the world didn't want to give her and winwin a break. she felt as though two cursed souls had found each other only to be constantly pulled apart over and over again.
a ding from keni's phone sounded and she reached up to the nightstand to retrieve it, wondering who would be texting her.
her breath hitched when she saw the familiar number, the same one that had told her to meet up with chen liu about a week ago.
it was a video attachment and keni pressed on it, her breathing getting faster at an alarming rate.
it was the boy that she loved, his hands and feet cuffed together and blood covering most of his body. a man approached winwin and kicked him so that he went flying and crashed into the metal wall.
keni stopped hyperventilating and instead held her breath in anguish at the sight of winwin bruised and bloody.
the text below the video had an address and the next thing keni did was pull on one of winwin's hoodies and exit the house through his window, hand clutching her wound as she made her way to the love of her life.
if she had left even only a few minutes later, she would have been caught.
lucas dragged his feet into winwin's room after an hour of debating with himself on whether to talk to her and comfort her or not.
he had decided to come to her side in the end, knowing that she would be hurting. and after all, lucas was always there for keni.
his feet stopped abruptly at the sight of the empty bed and the open window, curtains flying out in the wind. he frantically picked up the phone that keni had left behind and saw the text messages that had made her leave so urgently.
he sat down at the foot of the bed, having another internal battle with himself.
he knew the right thing to do was to go get kun or taeyong and tell them immediately about the situation, but something made him think twice.
maybe it was his ego, something that he had never really paid much attention to, but a part of him didn't want winwin to return at all.
he had a thought that keni was injured and she wouldn't make it too the address anyways. he could just go after her himself and bring her back before she got to winwin.
then he would have a chance.
maybe.
or maybe not.
