After a hour or so, Eliza's dad came in.
"So, uh, that's a no with you?"
"No, it's fine. It's just... that girl and I really didn't hit it off."
"Oh."
She looked up and grinned at him.
"Just don't get married, 'kay?"
"'Kay." He smiled too. "Now who wants ice cream? I think there was a place that served Dippin Dots around here."
Eliza leaped off her bed, considered, and gave her dad a huge hug.
