CHAPTER FIFTEEN
Going home
"TRY to jump, Keen," Bell suggested as he tossed the ball on my direction.
As soon as he tossed the ball, I took a large step and another one before I jumped. But luck really wasn't on my side. I didn't get the chance to hit the ball because my jump was too late and too low.
"Focus, Keen. Let's try again," he instructed. I marched back to my position and tried so hard to focus on the timing. I threw the ball to him and watched him toss it near the net.
You can do it, Ra. You can do it.
I took a large step and another one, but this time, I tried doing it with enough speed and then I jumped high. But again, I failed and ended up not hitting the ball.
I let out a frustrated sigh.
"I think our timing is bad. Maybe I should call Feem? She's the best setter for you," he recommended.
I know, Bell's not a setter. But his way of tossing the ball wasn't that bad. It's actually good.
"Or we can ask Trev to be your setter, he's also perfect for the job," Bell added.
Yeah, my twin's always the best setter. But right now, I don't think they can help me with my situation because they're too busy training so hard to win their games.
"Sorry for wasting your time like this, Bell," I apologized.
The girl inside me felt completely different. I was fed up, frustrated, and pained.
I really hate how things didn't work out for me.
He flashed me a small smile, leaned closer to me, and held my shoulders.
"This is not wasting time, Keen. We are getting ready for your comeback." His eyes sparkled with hope. "No matter how slow, you should be grateful there's still a progress."
His eyes were telling me to believe in him and never lose hope. My face brightened up.
How could you be this perfect, Bellamy Creos? How could you make me want to believe in you and bring back the hope I've once lost?
"Thanks, Bell." I let out a genuine smile.
He smiled back. "That's my girl."
I immediately shook my head and laughed. "Not yet," I teased, turning around to get the ball.
He chuckled. "Right. Not yet," he repeated.
When he confessed to me, I didn't know what to say so I told him that I'll think about it.
