Mikasa Sato Free Time Event (2/5)

As I woke up after the morning announcements, I let out a loud yawn as I stretch myself out of bed. It looks like Yui already left for breakfast, so I didn't have to worry about looking like a mess to anyone. I guess I spoke too soon because as I was about to get a change of clothing, I heard a loud and repetitive knock on my door. I tried to ignore it for a bit as I needed to change, but they wouldn't let up with the knocking. Annoyed, I sighed and went to the door to get it over with.

Yet as I opened it, I felt myself pushed back as the knocker forced themselves in. I look up and saw Mikasa towering over me with her arms crossed. She looked more annoyed than I was, so I was worried she might do something to me. Surprisingly, however, instead of talking down on me, she offered me a hand up.

"Here," she said, the annoyance can be heard in her tone.

I felt dumbfounded by this sudden (semi)kind gesture, but I blinked a little before taking it, where she helped me up on my bare feet. "Uh...thanks," I said.

"Don't mention it, so are we even now?" she asked.

"Huh? Even?" I asked, confused by what she meant.

"Oh don't play dumb, you already know I use bra pads, so are we even?!"

"I don't even know what you're talking about!" I yelled.

"Are you, like, for real?" she asked. "You clearly have blackmail on me you moron! If I ever get out of this place, I can't risk having you telling anyone about this! My popularity and social status is on the line!!" she exclaimed. Hearing closely, I could her a bit of desperation in her voice.

"...Please tell me you're not serious," I said, unsure how to take this seriously.

"Excuse me?"

"We're in a killing game where anything goes, nothing holding us back, and you're worried about me spilling your real breast size?" I asked. 'Wait...maybe I could use this?' I thought to myself.

"Well...um..." As Mikasa struggled to come up with a comeback, I did what she did to me and placed a finger on her lips. "And after treating me like trash, threatening me and pushing me down, how does barging into my dorm and helping me up, after knocking me down a second time I might add, makes us even?" I asked.

She tried to think of something to say, but...I saw fear in her eyes as her mouth was left agape...is her boob size really that important to her? "Please...what do you want...? I'll do anything..." she pleaded, with her voice shaking a little...

I honestly didn't think I'd have that much of a hold of her, but I saw an opportunity and said, "Let's start hanging out as friends then."

"...Say wha?" she wasn't expecting me to say that.

"We need to trust each other if we're going to escape this place, and we won't escape if you're so distant with everyone. So, I'm proposing that you try to get along with everyone. If it's too hard for you then at least start with me...alright?" I asked.

"I...I don't know..." she looked rather unsure about this.

"I promise, if you show even a bit of effort, I'll forget about the whole...you know, situation."

"...Do you really promise?" she asked. I nodded to her, showing how serious I was about this. However, she suddenly extended her pinky finger to me, leaving me confused until I realized she wanted me to pinky swear her. I couldn't help but playfully roll my eyes with a laugh as I locked my pinky with hers.

"I'm holding you to your word, got it?" she nervously asked.

"Of course, likewise for you," I said.

She sighed in relief as we broke our pinkies apart. "So...I guess I'll see you later," she said, feeling slightly awkward about this.

"Take care," I said, slowly feeling the same awkwardness she did.

Haru Notes:  I never thought I'd pinky swear with a cheerleader to keep her secret.  Now I'm not happy about blackmailing Mikasa, especially if it's for something small (you know what I mean), but this might be my only chance to gain her trust...though I want to know why something so minor made her desperate enough just to keep it a secret...
