"Please don't make me get up..." I whined to my mom as she attempted to pry me out of my ever so comfy bed.

"Hunter! It's not time for whining just get out of bed! You're going to be late for school!" My mom tried to persuade me to get out of bed, which I had no intentions on doing so.

She grabbed onto my legs and pulled me with one hard pull.

My body inched off the bed slowly as I thudded onto the floor.

"Ugh." I said quietly as my mom left looking proud, leaving with, of course, turning the light on.

I got up figuring I might as well get ready as I heard giggling from the kitchen. Great, mut was here, again. It was gross seeing my mom so happy with another guy.

I put on tight black leggings that hugged my legs perfectly, and a black "falling in reverse" band t-shirt. My favourite band. I grabbed my phone from the nightstand along with some shades that made me look like complete trouble. I liked this feeling of being "bad." It made me feel free.

My bare feet struck the wooden tiled floor as I went into the kitchen.

My mom was sitting on the marble counter, her legs wrapped around mut as he kissed her neck. Ew.

"Get a room why don't you?" I remark with a hint of attitude as I grab a poptart out of the box and head out the door with my bag without saying another word. I could tell my mom was speechless, most likely because that isn't exactly something I say on a regular basis. I felt weird today but I honestly loved it.

The sun was bright but my sunglasses shielded my eyes. It felt good feeling the sun soak into my skin. I was waiting for ashton, he was suppose to pick me up. His face popped into my mind. His beautiful eyes, his pink kissable lips, the way his hair hugged his forehead. Wow. I bit my lip without knowing until a slight pain shot through my face. I couldn't help but get a little excited over him. He gives me these weird feelings that I can't explain. Some good, some bad.

He pulled up in his old rusty pickup truck. His almost black hair flipped around his head as usually. His sunglasses looked almost the same as mine and I couldn't help but smile about it.

I lightly jogged over the the truck and around the front of it, eyeing ashton with a smile.

I opened the rusty door and it squeaked loudly, almost like a squawk from a dying bird. I cupped my right ear loosely a bit over dramatically.

"Please fix that." I say with a giggle in my voice.

"Oh trust me, I've tried." He says with a laugh also.

I sit on the leathered seats, this time warm on my legs, most likely from the sun peering through the window. The sun is still warm on my skin, the feeling of it filling up the spaces between my blood cells, the feelings of it seeping into the pores in my skin, the feeling of it inching into my body is indescribable.

"I love the sun." Ashton says with a smile.

"I do too." I say smiling also.

"I could tell. The way you look on sunny days.. why are you so perfect?"
He says in a serious yet jokingly voice.

I laugh then start my sentence "I'm nowhere near perfect, but thank you for the flattery." I say matter-of-fact-ly.

"Whatever you say.." He says with a smirk and we continue driving.

It felt like a short drive to the school I was dreading going back to. The break was good but the end of the break is always bad..

I began to head to 5th period, math. The hallway smelt of sweaty gym clothes, white board markers and axe cologne. Ew.

A hand grabbed my shoulder with slight strength scaring me, causing me to take a quick breath.

"Hey" Ashton called as it took my brain a moment to process what was going on.

"Hey!" I called back as he pulled me lightly into a large av room.

"How was your day so far?" Ashton asked interested.

I looked at his face. His tan skin. His sharp jawline. His perfect face. His.. Sunglasses?

"Why are you still wearing your sunglasses?" I asked curiously.

"Um.. I don't know. Does it matter?" Ashton answered a bit defensive.

"Why can't I know?" I asked feeling strange that this is a big deal.

A few moments passed. He debated inside his head as to what sentence would seep out of his lips next.

He sighed loudly, a sign of almost shame and regret.

"My dad.. Is living with us again." He said kind of plainly, obviously trying to hide his emotion.

Before I knew what was going on I was embracing him in a tight hug. I wanted him to know I was here for him.

I looked up at him. I reached for his sunglasses as I slowly pulled them off of his face, revealing a large bruise surrounding his left eye.

A gasp escaped my lips and I pulled his face to mine as I kissed him softly.

"It's okay.. He can't be staying for long." Ashton explained trying to reassure me.

"Ashton.. You can stay with me. I don't want you going back home.. Okay?" I offered.

"No.. He will get mad." Ashton said looking down at his feet.

"Then don't go back. Stay with me. My mom won't care.. She's too occupied with her new "boyfriend."" I explained.

"Okay." A smile rose on his face as he kissed me gently with joy.

The bell interrupted us as we headed to class.
