3rd Person POV

Marlene slowly stared in the mirror at herself, doing a clumsy twirl. The tight red dress wasn't her normal thing to wear, but then again, she had never been on a date. She wasn't sure about the heels either, feeling a blister already forming on her little toe was constantly rubbing again the rubbery fabric inside her shoes. She had attempted her best bun in her hair and did the same with makeup. Yet, everything looked... off.

But, she quickly snatched her white jacket and walked out of the bathroom only to be confronted by her four other roommates. Mary MacDonald seemed to be the one most eager to see how Marlene had done on her own. The girl was gorgeous, shorter black hair with just as dark eyes along with a beautiful white contrast for skin color. She always wore makeup and Marlene almost assumed she had been doing it since she new how to hold a makeup brush.

"So, whats his name?" Lily drawled out from the right. Lily as well was beautiful, her red hair as hot as flames and beautiful green eyes giving her the genetic lottery win. Marlene could feel her cheeks burning at the remembrance of the conversation her and the boy, Balfour Greengrass, had had during potions. Professor Slughorn seemed to have gotten on his last nerve at the end of class with their constant chatter. He was just so handsome and made her blush at almost everything he said. The normally outgoing girl who felt not a worry in the word had never been so shy in her life. From his naturally styled bright brown hair to his beautiful ice blue eyes who weren't like Lucius Malfoy's, they were almost comforting a way, playful like Jack Frosts.

Marlene snapped out of her slightly lovesick daze and blinked, her vision zoning in on the smirks and eye rolls her roommates were giving her.

"I have never seen you so shy before!" Donna said. The tall, darker skinned girl was the clumsy one out of the group of girls, maybe because of her towering height or because of her genes, they weren't sure. She had beautiful golden curls which stuck out most of time, even with her attempted to dominate the locks into a bun. Her skin seemed to shimmer with glitter in the sun along with her honey brown eyes.

"Look at her rosy red cheeks! Marlene, I didn't know you were capable of such an emotion!" Lily said to her, grabbing her friends arm. But the girls eyes quickly wandered down to the tight red dress which was causing Marlene so much tension while walking. "And you even dressed up, he must be something special, huh?"

Marlene looked down at her heels and huffed. "I sure hope so."

One her way out of Hogwarts and towards the running fire place, she could feel stares on her body and face along with hearing whispers. She hoped she never had to do this again because this was exhausting and she wasn't even there yet!

But eventually, she was able to bend down after a few attempts to make sure the short dress didn't ride up to far and collected a hand full of flew powder in between her fingers. She stepped into the recently cleaned fire place.

"Three Broomsticks," she commanded and threw the powered down at her feet where the green flames swallowed her whole.

She arrived straight in the The Broomsticks were chatter was running through the room. Marlene touched the top of her head, glad her hair hadn't been messed up as she slowly walked over to the pedestal where a woman was waiting. She tugged down her dress as she walked over, hating how it continued to ride up.

"Two please, one should be arriving soon," she told the older woman. Marlene didn't miss the doubt run through her facial expression as her worn blue eyes ran up the girls outfit. But Marlene held her chin high, following her over to a table with two chairs sitting directly across from each other. She chose the seat facing the open kitchen so she could distract herself from the stares coming in her direction.
