Her Secret

Chapter 16

Jayden's Pov

       "So guys, we need to talk," Mama T announced. "This is going to take many turns so can y'all please save all of the dramatics for after?"

     "No promises Mama," Solo replied. 

     "You're making me nervous mama," Honeybee admitted.

      I wanted to go over and give her a long hug and tell her that everything would be okay, but I know that's a lie. Everything is going to change after this. And even if I sat with her, she would probably throw me off of her and panic once she knew the truth. I feel as if I'm going to vomit. 

     "Yea, what's this all about?" worried. 

     "I think it's best if Sir and Rumi sit this one out," Mama T suggested. "I'll have this conversation with them when they're older,"

     "What about Blue and Julez then?" Bey questioned. 

     "Well, it's time they knew too,"

      "What are we talking about anyway?" Solo groaned. "Can we speed up this conversation a little too? I'm hungry"

     "Solo if you don't shutcho ass up," Jay complained. 

     "Anyways, it's about your heritage,"

      "I already know what I am. We're Creole," Honeybee interjected, befuddlement laced her voice. 

   "Well, you don't know all of it. In reality, you guys know nothing,"

     "Mama what are you talking about," Solo groaned, quickly becoming tired of the conversation at hand. "And if it's about our bloodline why is Big Lips and Jayden here?" Solo chimed in. 

     "Because it's very important that Jay is here and Jayden has a confession that ties to what I am about to explain," Mama T glared. 

     "Jayden," Mama T looked at me, letting me know that it was my time to speak my truth. 

    "i-" I started. I can't do it. I averted my gaze down to the ground as my eyes began to water. "I'm not who you guys think I am,"

     "What do you mean?" Honeybee interrogated. 

     "So I was right," I heard Jay mutter to himself. 

     "I'm Not human," I announced barely above a whisper. 

     "Halloween was yesterday babes, you're a little late," Honeybee laughed. 

     "She's not joking," Mama T interjected. 

     "very funny," Solo teased. "Now for real, what do you have to say J?"

     "She's not lying guys. She's really not human," Blue protested. 

    "You guys can't possibly be serious," Jay groaned. 

     "I'm serious," I tried. They just laughed in my face. They think it's a joke. I tried again, but they kept laughing. I sighed, I felt my eyes burn their familiar electric yellow. I patiently waited for them to finish their laughs before I tried again. 

     "As I was saying, I'm not human," 

     "When did you put in your contacts?" Solo noted. 

      "They're not contacts," I explained as I switched one eye from yellow to burgundy "they're real," 

     "What the actual fuck," Solo shrieked. 

      "That still doesn't mean you're not human," Bey tried. "They could just be contacts or a genetic mutation,"

     "What can I do to help you believe that I'm not a human," I tried.
