~Seth~

Only seven made it back to camp that day. Seven teenagers; merely children with scattered ages of 13-15. But they were changed forever, Seth still had no idea where his brother was and he knew that nothing good could come from this. They carried Beth’s limp cold body into the carpentry room and covered her with an old towel. They gathered around her and stood in solemn silence. Nothing was okay anymore and they had no idea what the plan should be. Seth walked into the smaller classroom area and leaned against the door. Listening keenly; He heard nothing; the entire school was empty. “I’m going out, anyone care to join me"? He asked. Everyone shook their heads slowly. He made his way over to a bat and picked it up, weighing it in his hands he decided it was enough.  He opened the door quietly and shut it behind him with a satisfying click. He soon heard what he recognized to be the slow pushing of benches in front of the door. He made his way down the eerily silent hallway; each step he took resonated loudly down the hallways.  He passed the spot here Beth died, blood splattered across the floor and walls. He frowned and looked away.  HE continued walking and turned into the hallway the eventually emptied out into the cafeteria.  He stared in awe at the destroyed lunch room. In all the panic and mayhem tables were left flipped and pushed against the rooms and doors to the outside were left wide open. Backpacks scattered the floor and even a little blood. He assumed that everyone had vacated outside and no one was left inside, he also hoped that no deaths other than his friends had occurred. He walked past each of the doors and slammed them shut. After all 6 doors were closed and secured he turned and closed the massive solid metal red doors that conned to the academic wing. They slammed shut with a loud thud. He stopped suddenly; something had caught his eye. He peered through the small 4x4 Plexiglas window and saw a somber sight. A young girl, probably freshman, crawled towards the loud sound the doors had created. She crawled slowly, using her hands to pull her forward, no scream came from her indicating her obvious pain. As she got classer it became apparent that she was sick. Her hair was battered- frayed hair and her clothes were ragged and torn. Blood smeared on her face and claw marks were embedded in her arms and throat.  She had a large chunk of flesh missing from her shoulder;   strange thing was it was bleeding, she wasn’t bleeding, but there was a long streak of blood that most likely lead down the stairs to the bottom floor. Her head suddenly snapped to the side and she looked down another hallway. He felt horrible for her and a small ball of sorrow filled his chest. Something had caught her attention and seth didn’t know what it or who it was. Shortly after a guy appeared, he swiftly stepped over the girl and continued walking. He was average in height, about 5’8, wore a sweatshirt and jeans and has carrying a hockey stick. He had dark brown eyes and really dark brown hair with a couple streaks of blue going through it. He looked back at the girl who was reaching for him and slowly opening and closing her mouth. A mixture of blood and saliva slowly came out of her mouth. He continued walking backwards and turned to see seth watching him keenly. His dark brown eyes lit up and he jogged up to the door. He tried to push open the door but to no avail it was locked tightly down. The boy looked at seth with pleading eyes as the girl crawled towards him slowly. “Its locked” Seth explained loudly; but the words were muffled. The boy shook his head, unable to hear what seth was trying to say. “LOCKED” called out to the boy. He slowly nodded his head and tried all the other doors; all of them locked. He slowly looked around he hall, to his left was another stairwell that lead upstairs, to his right was the attendance office for students to check in. He disappeared into the smaller room and the girl in jeans pulled herself along at her very own slow pace. She was close enough that he could hear her muffled growls through the door. There was a loud buzz and the farthest door to seths left opened up. The boy walked through and quickly closed the door with a click behind him. He opened his mouth to say something but YYconversation was cut off by the loud chopping sound of multiple helicopters making their way over the building. The whole school shook and rattled really hard. Seth ran to the front doors of the school, overhead was the startling sight of 7 helicopters flying in a V formation towards the center of town. He had seen this formation before but was confused as to what they were carrying. Suddenly he remembered; his dead had explained that the air force was working on a bomb to detect and destroy certain enemies. It could be programmed for any target (buildings, forest, people,) and destroy only that target. And here they were only minutes from the town square. He knew exactly what was about to happen. “shit”
