Chapter 26: Everything will be alright

WARNING!!! There will be gore in this chapter! When the gore starts, the first sentence will be bolded! I will say where the gore ends! Read at your own risk!

I slowly opened my eyes. "Will?" What happened? I was just in Will's mindscape and... I saw Will. In the middle of the basement chained up. I start to walk to him but get cut off by chains. I was so close to him. "Will wake up." I wonder... I stepped backward and slipped my shoe off. "Sorry Will." I picked my shoe up and threw it at Will. It hit his shoulder and he woke up with a start.

"Wha-what happened? Dipper!" Will quickly stood up and ran towards me getting stopped by the chains. "Did you throw your shoe at me?" I could tell he was trying to lighten up the situation.

"I'm sorry I had to wake you up. I can't get us out of these chains, do you think that spell could help?" He shook his head.

"No Dipper, it can't help with this. I just have a bad feeling."

"No Will, it's going to be alright I promise. Okay? Everything is going to be okay." I was so close to him, I could almost touch him. He leaned his head forward. I leaned forward and touched my forehead with his. "It'll be okay." I started choking up. "I promise. No matter what I love you." Clapping started. Will and I turned our heads to see Mabel and Ford walking out of the shadows. Mabel was clapping her hands.

"That was so touching, brother. But unfortunately, nothing is going to be alright." Mabel snapped her fingers and I was dragged back to the wall by my chains. Will was pulled to the ground.

"No! Leave him alone! Please! Hurt me instead! Not Will!"

"Sorry brother but this is the only way to hurt you." she and Ford stalked to Will.

 I felt numb. Which is extremely stupid. Will was the one getting hurt. Yet, here I was...sick just at the sight of it. How could he endure so much pain? I'm so weak. Ford's posture had been high just as always. In his hand held a whip, plain and simple. The whip was worn, the result of many, many nights just like tonight. Ford stalked towards Will, almost in slow motion but at the same time alarmingly fast. Without warning, he raised the whip and slashed it across Will's bare arm. I let out a loud yelp in sync with Will's pained one.

Ford let out a low chuckle. "Satisfying," he mused. His delighted tone sickened me. How could he be happy? Was the thick aura of pain pleasing him? He was a disgusting man. It came quick, faster than I could've blinked. With a loud crack, Will's white button up was torn as the whip cut through the fabric and left dots of blood trailing behind it. Will let out a choked gasp.

"S-stop," I tried to yell. I tried to scream, and I tried to yank my hands free of these chains, march over to that man and use the whip on him. He needs to know what it felt like, the repeated pain jumping and attacking him whilst he begged for mercy. I just couldn't move. Will let out cries with every loud slash, filled with anguish and tears. I felt deafened by his screams, his agony surrounding and choking me. Distantly, I could hear my uncle yelling.

"Do you hear that Mason? His pain, it's all because of you!" I closed my eyes, but I couldn't tune out the noise. Suddenly, I couldn't hear the sound of the whip anymore, no more angry slashes and cracks. I opened my eyes, confused, yet felt relief creeping onto me. Was it over? Is Will going to be okay now? Will, my beautiful Will, was beaten and bruised and bleeding. He was breathing heavily, sagged with his arms still chained up. I couldn't see from so far away, but I knew he was crying. A deep gash ran across his abdomen and dyed his torn shirt, or what was left of it, blue. How many nights have I seen him like this? With a jolt, I realized the answer was not few. The thought made my stomach churn and bile climb up my throat. Heels clicked against the pavement.
