Five years earlier

A new Dennis from twenty twenty walks up the steps of a building in downtown Cleveland. Once he gets to level twenty three, he enters the office. Dennis walks through the cubicles, greeting his fellow co-workers. He enters the managers room of the office.

"How can I help you?"

Dennis notices the new face, he looks around for his previous boss. "Um.. Is Katelyn in today?" Dennis asks a young man with his feet on the desk, chewing gum.

"No, sorry, I'm her son, she wants me to cover for her today, she is out with her friends on her vacation week, do you work here?"

Dennis recalls the week where his boss's son watched over him, he remembers it being a very uncomfortable and unproductive week.

"I just came to deliver this file for Katelyn," Dennis pulls out a file with papers inside that would accuse himself of racial allegations in the workplace, that might get him fired so he could focus more on his fiancé. "She will definitely want to take a look at this..."

"Yeah yeah, thanks, see-ya" he takes the file and sets it on the desk in front of him without looking at it. Dennis walks out of the office space noticing a younger version of himself across the room on the phone, looking at the wall.

"How about that..." Dennis says before he opens the door out of the office and descends down the staircase, headed to his second and last attempt to try and undo the mistake of losing his fiancé, exploiting time travel.

Katelyn's' son stands up from his chair to go use the restroom, bumping into the desk, and without noticing, knocks the file into the recycling bin.

Dennis waits in a car now, outside his old office, watching the exit. He waits for a younger, happier version of himself. Looking at the tuna can, he flips it over to the back noticing the cleanliness of the back. He scrapes a mark into the bottom of the can. After a while he sees himself exit the building and head to his car. The older Dennis starts his car and begins to follow himself down the road.

The younger Dennis is driving his brand new 2015 GMC Terrain along 71 south, coming from Cleveland. His fiancé is sitting in the passenger seat as they listen to the radio as they sit in silence. She looks out the window upset.

"Look, honey... I'm sorry... you have to understand, I am sorry!" he exclaims, she continues staring out the window in disapproval, "Babe I've been so caught up with work."

Following behind is the older Dennis, passing cars, looking far ahead for his old vehicle that he had lost sight of as traffic was heavy in Cleveland. He is waiting for the right moment to intervein and save the younger version of himself from the torment of the crash originally ensued. This was Dennis's plan all along. The last five years he had been working with Jacob and the Doctor all in the hopes that he would seize the right opportunity at just the right moment and the right time so he would be able to get his fiancé back. The younger Dennis accidentally swerves his car to the right, cutting off the future Dennis. He is surprised by this due to the fact that he did not think he was directly behind them. The cars settle, a semi truck far behind begins to increase speed as they descend down a hill.

"Holy shit..." Dennis says, realizing the accident is about to happen earlier than he remembered. He speeds ahead towards the passenger side to signal to them to not slam on their brakes. He rolls down his window and waves and yells, for a moment his ex fiancé almost looked at him. He is so emotionally swept by the sight of his ex fiancé that he focuses simply on her and for a moment forgets about the road and his surroundings.

The car that older Dennis drives accidentally swerves in front of Dennis, causing him to slam on his breaks. A sixteen wheeler slams into the rear of the GMC, swinging it forward and to the left into the barrier.

The older Dennis parks his car on the side of the road and gets out. He looks ahead to the crash. Smoke begins to rise. The car is just the way he remembered, upside down, glass shattered out on the pavement, radiator fluid drips out of the dismembered hood. One of the wheels is on the other side of the road. Dennis even from a distance can see his ex fiancé, covered in blood laying upside down with shattered legs. The look in her cold eyes resembles the innocence of a child, who has been tormented and left in the cold for no good reason other than the fact that it was destined to be unavoidable. The horror is so intense that Dennis almost passes out. He throws up behind his car, realizing what he has done. He realizes he caused his own fate, "Oh god... OH GOD!!!" he pleads as he falls to his knees looking toward the heavens. He realizes that his attempt to fix his own past in hopes of getting back with his fiancé, was always impossible.
