Chapter Six
Raleigh's POV
(As a reminder I do not own any of the Shadowhunter books, or Characters. Thanks to Cassandra Clare!)
As I explain everything I know about the Shadowhunters universe, Magnus's cat eyes grow wider and wider until it's a bit creepy.
Luke opens the boxes filled with books, putting them carefully on the shelves."So you're a Mundane with the Sight?" Magnus asks.
I look at Luke, who's making a do not say anything motion, but immediately stops.
I nod."So," He says. "I am going to explain this to Alec, and then I expect to be able to binge-watch all the digital stuff with you, and read some books written about me, as soon as I get back."
I nod again, more eagerly, and he walks out.Luke waits a second before placing the necklace into my hand that I saw before in my kitchen.
It's a heron pendant. Like the one that Jem gave to Kit in 2013."Wow," I say, trying to pretend that I don't know what it is.
He nods, smiling.
"This pendant will be a sign of trust, Raleigh. We want you to be able to trust us, and so the necklace is yours."
I smile back, a bit suspicious as to why he gave me it. I'm not a Herondale.
"I am going to unpack the boxes," I tell him. "But what did you want to tell me earlier?"He takes a circular device out of his pocket, breathing gently. It looks almost like a compass.
"This was given to us in a package a few days ago. We haven't had any luck reaching Cassie, but I thought that you should have a go with it. You might be our missing key. If it is anything, tell one of the adults."
I nod.
"Yes, sir."He exits the room, smiling.
I continue to unpack my stuff as Adele walks in.
She sees me putting up some paintings that I bought online."Magnus is acting like he's about to explode," Adele says.
I laugh.
She helps put up a picture of Ty.
"May I borrow Lady Midnight for Rosalie?"
I look up.
"Sure."
I hand it to her, and she leaves the room.Magnus walks back in, with Alec following.
"Okay," he says. He calls out to Adele in the hall. "Tell your father not to bother us!"
"Sure!" Adele yells back, and Magnus flops on my bed."So, Raleigh, there's no more lying, right?" Alec asks.
He walks over to the boxes, looking at the books.
I nod.I pull out the tv show DVDs and the movies.
"Which do you want to watch first?" I ask Magnus.
Magnus waves his hands, and all the stuff in the boxes arranges itself the way it was before.
"Which one am I sexier in?" He replies.
Alec makes a noise, almost dropping a book onto the floor."Um," I say, becoming slightly flustered.
"Raleigh?" Alec interrupts, saving me from answering. He holds up the Red Scrolls of Magic and the City of Lost Souls. "Is that me?"
I nod.
Alec also pulls out the Bane Chronicles and the Lost Book of the White.
Magnus's cat eyes widen.
"That's me!" He says. "How did-how did she do that?"I shrug.
I put the first season into the DVD player because then we can watch all of the tv show, then the movie, as Alec puts the books on the nightstand, sitting down next to Magnus.
I turn the tv on, awkwardly sitting on the side of the bed so I don't bother them.I feel arms wrap around my arms, pulling me closer to them.
"Ack-"
I realise that I am now sitting between the two of them.
"Why did you move me?" I ask. Both of the boy's shrug, turning their attention back to the tv.
***
I wake up the next morning after we had watched the entire tv show, and the movie last night.
Magnus and Alec are still asleep, so I grab my journals and slip out of the room as quiet as I can.
I head down towards Rosalie and Adele's separate rooms, slightly opening the doors to see if they're awake. But they're both dead asleep.
