Ezra had laid me on my side and checked the wound. "What happened Gin?" He carefully began pulling out pieces of wood from me.

"I just asked who he was. They said he was a vampire like me, then Ric tried to stake me from behind. I got the stake off him, then they all ganged up on me. I tried not to hurt them, then Dad threw me into the table. When I got to the kitchen, Lexi was there. I kept trying to escape, but they..." I felt tears run down my face. "They just kept trying to kill me. I had no choice Ezra. I swear. They left me no choice. I cut them, non fatal. I just wanted them to stop. Then Dad caught me, I...I...I bit him. His arm was around my neck...I had no choice Ezra, I swear." My eyes continued to flow.

"Gin. It's okay. Look at me." He held my face. "Did you drink his blood."

I nodded with a guilty frown."I had no choice Ezra. I swear. I just...I just wanted them to stop...why couldn't they just let me leave?" I sobbed, holding his jacket.

He seemed worried. "She drank her father's blood."

"No! Ezra please! I didn't want to hurt them! I swear! Please don't!" I knew I was in trouble. They were going to kill me.

"Gin, just breathe. I need you to breathe and calm down."

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry."

He let go of me and walked out the door. Leaving me on the table, alone.

I held my head, a searing pain, like it was being torn open from the inside. Then I felt sick, and recognised the feeling. Throwing my head to the side, blood rushed from my lips, just like in the hospital, but this time I was alone. I didn't call for help, I decided it would be best if I died there. Ezra had done the right thing and brought me forward, he wouldn't be punished.

Footsteps entered the room, I looked up to see Mum, with a sadistic expression.
I couldn't do it, I wouldn't let her kill me. I rolled off the table and scrambled against the wall, she continued coming closer. "Just leave me alone. I didn't mean to." I looked around for anything to use as a weapon.

"Why don't you just bite me like you did to him. Did it taste good? I bet you're still hungry." She reached her arm out to me. "Go on, I'll let you have a few sips, get your strength back. Then we can have a fair fight." Her pulse was loud in my ears, I was starving.

"I don't want to. I didn't mean to bite him. It was self defence."

"Here." She waved her arm in my face.
I slid away from her and tried to pick myself up, crawling for the doorway, trying to get away from her, until she stood in front of me. "Just one bite."

"No, I'm starving, get away. I don't want to hurt you." I slapped her arm away and curled up in a ball. "Why did you torture me? Why not just let me go? I just wanted love." I held my arms over my face, biting my hand to avoid smelling her blood.
I felt a hand on my shoulder, rolling me over. "No, leave me alone!" I threw her off me and crawled away, then collapsed.

"Gin!" Ezra called, taking hold of me.

"Ezra be careful!" I wrapped my arms around him and looked to see no one there.

"Gin. It's okay. That was a test. They had to be sure you were telling the truth. He bit his forearm and placed it in my mouth.

I quickly grabbed it and pushed it away.

"Gin, I trust you." He placed it back at my mouth and held my head against it. As it started pouring down my throat, it took every morsel of control not to suck. Eventually he pressed it hard into my teeth, making it bleed more, I had to swallow, but that's all I did. I refused to start drinking out of fear I would not stop. "Fine, that's good enough for now." He took his arm away and let it heal.
