Spencer tried to laugh, but failed. The goddesses looked over at him, horrified by his reaction.
"She thinks she's a pushover?" He gasped, "She's *Cough cough* the strongest being I know. That's pathetically hilarious to think that on her part." Spencer said. It was meant to be a compliment, but his mind wasn't working right.
"Yet you cannot feel the power that she is giving off. She could end up being as strong as the sisters of peace and war put together! She is the two of us put together! Can't you see that!" Tokali started to shout and Tomala came over.
"Sister, calm yourself. I should be the one doing this." The younger, calmer goddess of war told her raging goddess of peace sister. The older goddess sighed and took a deep breath, trying to calm down.
Spencer realized he'd made a grave misstep. He was so caught up in his dream of being the hero, of having his name sung throughout the ages as the Savior of Humanity, that he failed to see what his cousin was feeling.
He looked up to see the twins, standing shoulder to shoulder looking at him. He remembered how he'd first met these two. They'd been just like this, watching him. Waiting for him to make a choice. The same choice was presented now; power or family?
Tokali looked at Spencer, glaring with malice and hatred in her eyes. Tomala shrank, and lightly grabbed Alaric's arm.
"You see the choice you have to make, but I believe you are too late for your sweet cousin. If I have been in her head and seen what she has done and thinks. She will never trust you again. Third strike, your out." Her voice had a edge that could cut the air.
Spencer glared at her. He sat up slowly, smoke starting to curl from his blankets. He started to glow, and his wheezing disappeared.
"Tokali, a bit of advice for you. Preach not about what you do not know. In both my life and baseball you have now knowledge. You rule not me, nor Katie, nor anyone else on this world. So why don't you just stop making outrageous claims that mean nothing to anyone, ok?" Spencer threw away the blankets covering him, leaving him sitting there in his medical gown and bandages. His skin was starting to turn white, like a light was being shone through him. His eyes, which had been bloodshot before, were clear and orange as they should have been.
"I have made my choice," He said, rising further. "And you cannot stop me." He walked out of the room, ripping off his bandages. The whole company stared after him, dumbstruck. They heard down the hall,
"Hey, does anyone know where my bloody clothes are?" and a door opening and closing.
Tokali looked at the door and sighed, while Tomala let go of Alaric and walked over to her sister.
"Is he going to go after Mokali? Is he that dumb or have a death wish?" The goddess of war asked in a curious manner as Tokali sighed and walked over to Alaric and rested her head on his shoulder.
"Why are some humans so foolish to try and fix things are unfixable?" she asked quietly.
The twins looked at one another, having a silent conversation.
"What is he doing?" Gaudium asked,
"I don't know, but he made his decision. We have to swear here and now to help him, regardless of his plans." Furorem responded.
"You think he took your side?" The Joy and Strength spirit asked,
"I have no idea. But either way, he needs allies. Either way, it's a noble cause." Fortitudo raised and eyebrow.
