"How could we have believed you? For all we knew, you were trying to stop us from defending ourselves. It's not like we knew you'd created us. Amogaru claimed the same thing as you did. We could trust no one!" Alaric defended, as he started glowing in frustration. He turned to Spencer, who's eyes were glued to where Tomala stood, smirking at her sister. "Do you want to see why I do the things I do? Why I fight to slay the evil gods that created us?" Spencer made no indication, but Alaric took that as a yes.
The scene shifted to the main hall of an ancient castle, with a long table set up with a dozen warriors sitting around it. Alaric was one of them, his eyes red from crying, but his gaze was strong. Others sat around, and one was saying.
"How do we know she isn't trying to trick us? The Gods know our power is something to be feared, so they must undermine us to stop our power. This is exactly the thing the Gods would do, make us doubt their evil by sending us a Goddess in tears. Besides, we cannot allow the, ah," He glanced at Alaric nervously, "Incident at the village to go unpunished. Attacking innocents is not something we can allow." The real Alaric turned to the pair, and the scene paused.
"This was the day after my daughter was transformed into a demon and set upon a village of innocents. The speaker is Vincent, and he was the second in command of the Order of the Scales. He spoke the truth, and we all knew this. We wanted to kill the Gods who had overstepped the line." He turned to Tokali, "So forgive us for not really being in the mood to pity the Gods." Spencer watched Vincent, he looked oddly familiar. Like a character from a book he had read a long time ago, and remembered only the name.
The Real Tokali was shivering laying on her side. She looked so scared and confused.
"What did I do? What did I do to deserve this!" She asked over and over again.
"You did nothing except stand up for your beliefs before you could be strong enough to fight back. That's why the Gods treated you as they did. And The Order didn't know that you were not happy with the other Gods. We thought you were one of them as much as any other Goddess. We simply didn't trust any God, and that's what kept us alive. That's why we won the war. We fought against all of the Gods and their minions without mercy or a second thought." Alaric explained.
To try and snap Tokali and himself back to their senses, Spencer morphed the scene to a white sandy beach on Outset Island. He needed to be somewhere warm and nice, and he enjoyed this idea. He summoned a coconut drink for himself, and two more for the Goddess and the Godslayer. They ignored them. Spencer shrugged, and changed everyone to the proper attire for the scene. Alaric was confused when he found himself shirtless, but Tokali didn't seem to notice her sudden change in clothes and scenery.
"Look, Tokali." Alaric started, finding the bitterness and anger drain from him when faced with the dejected Goddess before him. "If we had any idea what was truly happening, we never would have done what we did. We, no, I am very sorry for all I did to you." Alaric bowed to the Goddess, and offered her a coconut drink. "Peace?" He asked, hopefully.
Tokali flinched away and shifted into her monster form and backed away. It seemed as if she couldn't see them as who they were anymore. She whimpered and shivered as her tail curled up around her body.
Spencer sighed, and wished things had worked, but couldn't blame either side. He sat back and watched the sun over head, slowly start to sink towards the horizon. Nice that it didn't blind him in his mind. Alaric looked hurt, but not surprised. He took a drink from his own drink and set Tokali's next to himself, as an open invitation for whenever she wanted to join them. Spencer admired the man's patience and hoped Tokali would join them. He like her, and wanted to make peace with her.
