Spencer woke up to a familiar feeling. He smiled, happy to be back in his wife's arms. He'd missed the feeling of her hugging his whole body. He could hear her breath, he could feel her heartbeat through her body, could feel her fangs resting on the nape of his neck. He simply relaxed for the moment, enjoying the moment of silence after such a battle.
Tokali woke up and looked over next to her to see Alaric asleep, the sight of which made her smile. She softly kissed him on the forehead as she relaxed back onto the bed. She knew she would be fine now, not having to worry about anyone barging in and taking away from the time she wanted so bad. Tomala and Amelia were up with Ra having a nice chat with each other and having a good time. Katie opened one of her eyes as she started to wake up, feeling like she was having a hangover. She felt a presence on her shoulder and she turned her head to see what it was, smiling at the sight. Sans and the twins were sleeping there with a blanket over them. She stayed put and waited knowing she would be hit with many questions about what happened by her family.
Spencer heard footsteps outside the room, then the door burst open. Spencer and Muffet bolted upright. Chara stood there, a fierce expression on their face.
"We need to tal..." Their voice trailed off, realizing that this was a bad time. "I'll come back when you're fully dressed." Spencer said that'd be best.
Tokali fell back asleep as the dragon's, goddess, godslayer trio continued to talk. Katie felt better as the time passed and could raise her head to watch her small family sleeping and know they are safe.
Spencer sighed, got out of bed and threw on a t-shirt and jeans. He walked into the hallway, noticing Chara standing there awkwardly.
"Morning, what did you need?" Spencer yawned. Chara didn't look Spencer in the eye while responding, instead staring at the walls around them.
"I need to ask you something. You have achieved everything in this world, what more do you want?" Spencer shrugged, realizing that he craved nothing except a shower and breakfast. Then he noticed something funny in Chara's question.
"What do you mean 'This world?' Do you know of another?" Spencer asked, confused. Chara rolled her their eyes,
"Don't play dumb, even if you are quite adept at doing so. I know you see the strings controlling our every action." Spencer nodded, knowing that the Red eyed human was referring to the authors.
"Yes, but I can't reach there, and even if I did I'd be no more than a spectator." Spencer argued. Chara smirked.
"There is another option."
Katie watched her family and looked up to the sky, starting to wonder what will happen next. She thought of the duty of being the ruler of the race that was stronger than any other race besides humans. These thoughts ran through her head as she looked down to the ground and sighed.
"Oh, and what is that, kiddo?" Spencer asked, though Chara had grown up significantly, looking like a fully grown ex-ghost. Chara glared at the hero for his jab and spoke,
"Your story is close to ending, but we can survive the end of our story." The world flashed and everything disappeared. Spencer's soul, orange again, appeared in front of Spencer, and Chara's red one in front of them. The red souled human held two buttons in their hand.
"See, here's your options." Chara said, throwing them on the ground. One said RESET, the other said CONTINUE. Spencer saw them, and looked up at Chara confused,
"The hell are these things?" Spencer asked. Chara smirked.
"The ultimate decision I give any human after they have unlocked their full power. Usually it's a little girl or boy named Frisk, but this time was different. You were different." Chara stated, stepping over to Spencer and pacing in front of him like a hungry wolf. "At first I was intrigued by Katie, but I soon realized she was more than human. She was no fun, too powerful to even consider trying to sway. Too strong to listen to me. But you... You were already conflicted. That was interesting. So, I decided to play with fate. I gave you some Determination when you needed it, and made sure that I left you to fail often. I wanted to unlock your full potential. So, with that realized, I decided to give you the choice." Chara's red eyes flashed. "Sacrifice this world and make a new story, or continue with this boring world." Spencer opened his mouth, ready to answer instantly, then closed it as he thought.
