^ma babies
After arriving home from school, your mother sees you and, expectedly, starts asking you questions about your first day.
"So how was your first day?" she asks before you even have your shoes off.
"It was okay." you reply unenthusiastically.
She is visibly underwhelmed. What did she really expect? Your whole life, everything has just been 'okay'.
"Did you make any friends?" she suddenly asks.
You pause for a second and remember your encounter with Kageyama. It was obvious you weren't friends yet but you had hope that maybe that would change.
"I guess you could say I have." you respond. She looks surprised but then smiles at you.
"I'm glad." she simply says and then walks off to do whatever she was doing before she questioned you.
While running up the stairs to go to your room you check your phone and notice you received a message.
Unknown number:
Just because you've moved to a high school far away from me, don't think that I've forgotten about you. 3:55pmYou immediately block the number and put your phone away. The texts didn't bother you anymore but maybe it's time to get a new phone number.
*Skips to next school day*
Today you decided to find Kageyama and ask him if he wants to eat lunch with you. This was an extremely bold move for you but you want to make a change for once. After getting that text yesterday you decided you're not going to let your past make you a friendless freak during your high school days.
Entering homeroom felt like a walk of shame after what happened with Tsukishima yesterday and sitting behind him is going to feel even more uncomfortable. Except you're not going to be sitting behind him? For some reason he was sitting in your seat, leaving his seat empty.
You slowly walk towards him."Uhh, you're in my seat." you state. A couple of seconds that felt like minutes pass and he doesn't say a word. You figured he just doesn't want you staring at him during the lesson so you accept this and sit in his seat, which is now yours.
Class ended and it was now your mission to find Kageyama and the first place you go to is obviously the vending machine. And of course, he was there buying milk. You fast walk to him before he leaves.
"Hey Kageyama-kun, do you remember me?"
"Obviously, we met yesterday." he says in his usual monotonous voice.
You nervously laugh as you realise what you said was stupid. Obviously he's going to remember someone he gave his milk to just yesterday.
"Well... I was thinking... do you want to... eat lunch with me?" You shyly proposed. His cheeks turn pink and his eyes widen.
"...Sure." He mutters under his breath. If you weren't so observant right now due to your nervousness you probably would have missed it.
"Okay cool!" you smile and walk with him towards the nearest bench. You unpack your bento, ready to eat until a small, ginger boy, who looks like he got lost on his way to elementary, runs towards you and Kageyama.
"KAGEYAMA!!!" the boy yells.
Kageyama was clearly annoyed and looked like he knew what was coming.
"Is that pretty lady your girlfriend?" the ginger boy asks abruptly, causing both you and Kageyama to blush in embarrassment.
"No no, we only met yesterday and we're just eating lunch together." you explain. Kageyama looked like he was about to kill this guy.
