Meanwhile, somewhere in the forest:

Malom held his stomach and growled in rage and pain... He was so damn close. The halfbreed was stronger than he thought. The impact he took from being thrown to the ground had left him with a bruised back and a cracked rib.

He shifted more often now to help his wounds heal, but it was painful.

"DAMMIT!" malom yelled to the moon-lit sky.

"Malom!" Said his second in command beta, Ronin. "We need to leave, the prey have fled the area and the pack needs to eat".

"No, we stay here" malom said.

Ronin sighed, "mal there's nothing left here! All that's here are a few wolves and bears"

"Then kill the bears, or the wolves!"malom growled

"Are you still thinking of pursuing that omega boy?!"

"Hmm..."

"Mal, give it up! You saw the strength of his alpha!! And look at you!! You can't barely walk anywhere without feeling the pain!"

Malom grabbed ronin by the throat and held him up in the air. The beta squirmed and kicked

"I'm starting to doubt your loyalty Ro" malom said with a growl, his red eyes filled with bloodlust.

"C-come on... M-mal.....Ive always stuck by you... Y-you know m-me"

Malom growled but dropped Ronin, letting him hit the ground like a bag of rocks. "Don't ever doubt me again Ro, friend or not, I'm the alpha. That omega is powerful, Hetero chromatic eyes and white fur.... Just having him around means good fortune for the pack, no more food shortage, no more pain. He is our key to being the strongest pack, all he has to do is be marked by me, the alpha, then all that good fortune, the healing powers, it'll be ours. So we stay, until I can make him mine

Ronin felt unsure, he was right that the white wolf would bring an end to the pack's suffering, but what use is saving the pack if there were no pack members to save. And what about the little omega?

Ronin remembered glancing at him sympathetically as malom dragged him off to the shed.... The scent of sex and omegan distress pheromones told him what had happened. It was unnecessary force, malom needed to mark the poor boy, not rape him and leave him crying.

But this was malom, and ronin knew his temper, so he pretended to agree... "Of course, this is all for the pack" he said.

Malom nodded and kept walking. Ronin headed back to the pack, feeling nothing but guilt. He should have stopped malom before he did that to the omega. He decided to go and apologize in the morning, while everyone went to hunt. In all honesty, Ronin knew what he must've felt,  if the omega was to benefit the pack, they needed to treat him like the miracle he was, he needed to be protected and befriended, in order to bring good fortune....living in fear would make him hate the pack and do nothing for them.

Ronin curled up in his den and thought of ways to make it up to the omega, and keep malom from finding out

The following morning...

Kai was the first to wake up, he stretched and went for a walk, letting yoichi get his sleep, he needed the rest from taking care of kai's panic attacks and nightmares....they were manageable now, but still...it scared him to think it could happen again, or that yoichi could get hurt.
So kai decided to let yoichi take a break and he made a mental note to avoid staying in a secluded area. He remained out in the open where he'd easily be seen by other campers.
Werewolves weren't the most book smart, but they knew to avoid large groups of humans.

He took a deep breath and took in the warm sunlight, laying back on the cool grass, while yuki rested beside him, he head laying on his stomach as he pet her soft fur. "I should really thank you yuki, you looked after yoichi when I couldn't" kai said, giving the dog a scratch behind the ear and earning a satisfied croon from the dog.

Kai caught the scent of werewolf, but a beta, and only one.

Bold move.

Yuki growled as the beta male approached, he had golden eyes and reddish brown hair. Kai stood and stepped back from the male.

"Don't  worry I'm not here to cause trouble!" The beta said nervously. "I just wanted to talk"

Yoichi walked behind kai and pulled him close in a possessive manner. "You got some fucking nerve coming here alone!" He growled out.

The betas ears flattened under the powerful energy that yoichi gave as an alpha. "P-please I swear I'm just here to talk, my alpha doesn't even know I'm here"

Yoichi stepped forward but kai stopped him. His observant gaze locked onto the beta. "Yoichi, I'd like to hear him out, when malom did what he did, there was a wolf who looked sorry, for me... I think he was that wolf.

The stranger nodded, "my name is Ronin, maloms second rank"

Kai remained silent, focusing on his words and mannerisms. First someone who worked for malom, this guy seemed.....calm.

"I came to ask for your forgiveness...I should have said something, Done SOMETHING to stop mal...but I didn't, and because of it you went through unnecessary suffering"

"..... Why didn't you?" Kai asked, "malom is you're alpha, and you're high enough in rank to challenge him as alpha....so why didn't you?".

"I-....I was afraid, malom was my friend, and he was always unstable, but I was scared that I'd lose my life if I tried, but no one deserves that, and besides rejecting him, there was no good reason to let that happen to you...so on behalf of my pack..."

He fell to his knees and leaned back, this was a werewolf's second most vulnerable position, it left his neck and chest wide open for a kill....but kai was not a monster, at least not in that sense.
"Get up Ronin, its weird being basically bowed to."

"S-so...is that a no?"

Kai sighed "I forgive you, only because I understand what it means to fear an alpha. You were only doing you're job as second in command.

"Thank you"

"Don't get your hopes up, I still don't trust you" yoichi said with a low growl.

"Yoichi..."

"No....I can't trust him until he proves that he can be" yoichi said softer this time "I'm not taking anymore risks, pup"

Kai kissed him on the lips, a quick peck. "I never said I trust him yoichi, I only said I forgive him. Trust has to be earned"

Ronin nodded at that phrase. Yoichi calmed down and nodded as well...

"Thank you both, I hope that the next time we meet, it'll be for a good reason"

Yoichi held his omega closer
"For your sake

...It better be"

(Well...ronin is cool you guys, so is the pack, they just have a shitty leader who threatens and manipulates them all ... Anyways bye pups...ciao!)
