Yoichi nodded slowly as Ronin relayed information to him and Kai.
The beta male had shown himself more often, with word of new allies from maloms pack, apparently malom had mistreated and harmed members of his pack, just for speaking out of line.
Kai hugged yoichi with a look of excitement as they formed a game plan for the final fight.
"What about me? What can I do to help?" Kai asked eagerly.
"Kai....I don't think-...." Yoichi started to say. How do you tell the love of your life he has to hide away while you risked your life for him?
"I know that look, absolutely not! I'm not going to cower while everyone else fights my battles, I'm done being the damsel in distress" kai said with a determined expression, yoichi knew that expression. It was the one he made when he refused to back down, as most omegas would.
Yoichi challenged him on it once, he was trying to convince kai to stay with him and his bitch of a mother, only because his mother was more behaved when she thought kai might go for the throat. She feared him and yoichi was selfishly trying to use that.
At the age of six he learned about alpha command, a kind of tone that forces omegas to obey.
He used it when kai boldly refused the offer. "Obey me omega" those were his words. Kai had whimpered and fell to his knees, fighting the effect the command had on him, his breathing fast an his eyes full of tears as he glared at yoichi with a look of true fear and pain.
Yoichi didn't like it, it hurt to see his omega in pain because of him. He immediately apologized and hugged kai, saying he didn't have to follow the command. Ever since then he never used an alpha command on Kai, and when his omega was stubborn and defiant, yoichi gave in, trusting Kai's judgement.
But this time, Kai's life was on the line.
"Pup, last time you met him, he hurt and raped you!" Yoichi pulled kai into a hug, petting his white wolf ears subconsciously. "I can't stand to see you that broken and scared, my heart can't take it"
"I know, yoichi and I'm not asking to fight him directly, I can't watch you get yourself killed for me. I don't care if it's something small, I want to help anyway I can"
Yoichi groaned, slightly annoyed, while ronin tried VERY hard not to laugh. It was rare to see a defiant omega. And to see an alpha get told by his own omega was a hilarious situation to witness.
"Oi, shut up you fucking asshole, this is serious!" Yoichi growled. When ronin eventually started laughing hysterically, yoichi groaned and turned to his omega, "fine, you can help, but promise you'll be careful okay"
"Promise!" Kai said, his frown instantly turning into a wide smile.
"Actually I think I know a way. But yoichi might object"
"Name it!" Kai said, slapping his hand over yoichis mouth. Both shocking him, and irritating him.
Of all the omegas in the world....he got the difficult one.
"Well, Kai is known for being a fast runner" ronin explained "and maloms temper is extremely short, if you can lead him somewhere we can ambush him, we might be able to win. You'll have to distract him and get him to chase you... Yoichi and I can cut him off"
Yoichi licked Kai's hand, causing the omega to squeal and wipe his hand on his pants, "YOICHI!!"
Yoichi grabbed Kai by his waist, "one condition, don't get too close to him, he may not be as fast as you pup, but he's not an idiot either"
