Elizabeth Lewis, better known as Ellie has been through a lot during the first 18 years of her life. Not having a father figure for the majority of her life, she became very close to her mom. She was never very popular throughout school and only had one friend, Addilyn who she had been best friends with since primary school. She kept to herself focusing on school and her music.

Music was her passion. Whenever she was not at the library studying or at her part-time job as a waitress, she would be in her room playing the piano and singing. Ellie was far too shy to let anyone listen to her sing except her mom and Addlilyn and they only heard when they eavesdropped.

Ellie didn't allow herself to go to social events because she didn't like to be around a lot of people. She felt very overwhelmed by crowds. Addylilyn would always invite Ellie to place but she would automatically decline. Except for one party.
It was Ellies junior year of high school. The football team had just won the championship for the first time ever. Addilyns's boyfriend was throwing a huge party and Addiliyn practically dragged Ellie there. Ellie kept to herself at the party, only talking to very few people besides Addilyin.

There were a few boys to show up from another school. Not much attention was brought to it because they weren't harming anyone, not yet at least. Addylin had gone to get a refill on her drink when the three boys approached Ellie. They sat beside her on the couch and started having small conversations with Ellie. She had learned their names were James, Harrison, and Theodore. They seemed like nice guys to her. After a few minutes, Addilyin hadn't returned and Ellie assumed she went somewhere with her boyfriend. After a bit more small talk Ellie had to use the restroom. She excused herself and made her way upstairs. After she had finished in the restroom and opened the doors, all three boys were waiting for her. She was confused at first but when they grabbed her abruptly she knew what was happening. She screamed but there were no people in the hallway and the music was far too loud for anyone to hear. Once they covered her mouth and took her into the nearest bedroom that wasn't occupied, Ellie had lost hope of being saved. They pushed her down on the bed and had their way with her while one of them kept her mouth covered. Ellie hadn't even kissed a boy, much less any of the things they were doing to her. She sobbed throughout the entire experience until one of her prayers had been answered and someone came into the room. Apparently, the boys had been so distracted with Ellies fight, they had forgotten to lock the door. Addilyin walked in with her boyfriend and saw the attack the boys were pulling on Ellie. Even though they had saved her, they were too late. The damage had been done and Ellie couldn't even move she was in so much pain and shock. Addylins boyfriend got them off of her and called the police. Addylin redressed her and sat with her until her mom came.

Ellie pressed charges but wanted nothing to with it after she testified. The boys ended up going to juvenile detention until they were 18 and were then sent to prison. Ellie rarely left her room except for school, and wouldn't let a guy get within five feet of her. No one really talked to her at school, scared if they said the wrong thing it would set her off. The only people she would voluntarily talk to was her mom and Addilyin. Music was her best company. She spent even more time in her room playing her piano and singing until she was hoarse.

When it was time for Ellie to start to apply to colleges, she applied to everyone she could in London. It had always been her dream to have a small apartment in the city. The top college she wanted to get into was Imperial College London. It was one of the top colleges in London, one of the top colleges in the world. It was only about a three and a half-hour train ride from her home in Liverpool so it would be easy for her to visit her mom. The only thing that it didn't offer was studies in music. She was okay with that though, music had always been her passion but she knew it would be nothing more than a hobby. She was far too scared to sing in front of people, and it is extremely hard to be a successful singer. She had decided to apply as a literature major, She loved to read when she wasn't singing so she thought it would be a good fit.

The day she got her acceptance letter had to have been the best day of her life. She was shocked when she had received a full-ride minus housing on an academic scholarship. Since her schooling was paid for, that meant the money her mom and her had saved could go to pay for a small apartment. Ellie was finally living her dream. Now all she could hope for was no distractions.
