I got into my car and looked at my phone. It said it was 3:47. I just need to drive to the Starbucks near the park and I'm ready.
When I stepped out of the car, I can see Sean on his phone in the cafe. Maybe that was Sean, I didn't really know much.
We're going to meet at 4 PM, not 3:56 PM. I got back into my car and leaned on the headrest. I just have 10 minutes left to know what I should talk about. Then, my mind wondered around to what happened this morning. The kiss. And there I was, sitting in my car alone with a red face.
I tried to clear my mind and try to think about what I will say and maybe I can be friends with this guy. I'm not really good at making friends, it sort of just happens. I tried to relax myself from the tense air I was building up and I walked out my car and sort of looked into the cafe to see if he's still in there.
He spotted me and waved. I was still very nervous and I waved back. I walked towards him and gave him handshake.
"Hey, y/n! Great to finally meet you!" He pulled his hand back to his side. "Let's order our drink, shall we?" We walked to the ordering counter and ordered our drinks. Both of us got coffee and walked back to our seat. "Sit down, it's fine!" He pointed out.
"Oh! Yeah. Thank you." I sat down on the chair across him. I fiddled my fingers since I was nervous. Sean put his phone in his pocket and then looked back at me.
"Don't be nervous, y/n. It's not an audition." He smiled. I smiled nervously and put my hands on my lap. "Not yet, at least." He joked. "Anyways, what do you think about joining the label?"
"Oh, uh... Is it okay if I talk about Brian, Joji and Niki first? I'm still not entirely sure about it yet." "Of course!" Sean replied enthusiastically.
I told him about the three of them, since I still needed time to think about his offer. I grew up having to have someone else to decide things for me. So this time, I need to be able to decide alone.
"Wow, I really like the way you describe them. They are very creative people based on your description. I'm looking up to it." He explained. "So, what do you think about the offer?"
I froze. I was very nervous and terrified. My hands were cold but my palms were sweaty. "Uhh... to be honest, Sean, I think I..." Somehow, he looks calm and that made me feel a little better. "I am really happy that you would give me that offer, but I think I still need time to learn about how to be sure about myself. I would say I'm not confident enough with what I'm doing, and I'm currently in the process of learning it. So, can it be on hold for a while? Until I finally get to be confident with myself if that's fine."
Sean nodded, showing that he understood with what I was saying. "Very well. It's totally fine. It's great, actually. You can take your time and I can ask the others, yeah?" He smiled and took another sip of his coffee.
I nodded and smiled. "Oh, and can you please not tell the others? I'm afraid that they would disagree to my decision if they knew." He nodded once again to show that he understood.
"You can always contact me as a friend too, you know? Maybe you can come around with a bunch of my friends and make some beats together!" He handed me his business card and I took it between my fingers and read it.
"Thank you! I'll save your number. I'm glad I made a friend." I took out my phone and typed down his number. "Oh, can you give me your number so that I can call you when we can make songs together." Sean handed out his phone.
I typed down my number on his phone after I typed down his number on mine. I returned his phone and it seems like a notification popped out.
"It's really nice meeting you, y/n. I need to leave now. I forgot I have an appointment in about an hour. See you when I do!" We stood up and shook each other's hands. He walked out the cafe and waved at me. I waved back and sat down. I was relieved and glad that I was able to let out a decision I made by myself and I was sure it was a great decision.
