Danis Perspective

In the past few months, I've learned to appreciate life way more than before. Life with Jamie is everything I ever wanted but sometimes, our perfect life gets interrupted...

By Viola.

It seems like she's rarely with me, maybe even still partially at the lake, only coming to me when she wants to, but every time she does I feel her deep inside of me. Sometimes stronger, sometimes only a little bit.

„Heyyyyy Beautiful" Jamie greeted as she came into our flat. She had been out in town getting groceries and running errands.

„Hey Jamie. I missed you." I replied, while running up to her to give her a kiss. „What's the plan for the rest of the day?" It was a sunday, our off day, which meant we didn't have to open the store and could relax most of the time.

„I don't know Poppins... I am quite tired, how about we stay in and cuddle. We could go for a small walk as well if you'd like." She said. I nodded „Sounds pretty good to me. I can make some sandwiches for lunch."

Sandwiches, another one of the things we could both make without burning down the house or creating something that tastes like something a witch makes to poison someone.

„Perfect." She unloaded the groceries onto the counter, letting out a groan. „I bought some fresh veggies as well as plenty of cheese to put on the sandwiches."

I made the sandwiches while Jamie put the grocery's away and we sat at the table to eat them.

I felt at peace. Sitting there next to Jamie, eating sandwiches in comfortable peaceful silence. I was happy.

But suddenly it hit me. A wave of emptiness, darkness and sadness came over me without any warning. I nearly dropped my sandwich in shock. I didn't want to worry Jamie, so I didn't say anything but I sat next to her nearly shivering. I felt so empty that I was freezing.

„Hey Jamie" I stuttered „I think I'm gonna take a bath, I might be getting a little sick. Would you mind cleaning the kitchen."

„Of course, are you alright? Do you need anything else?" She questioned.

„No, I'm fine. I'm sure I'll be fine after the bath."

I made my way to the bathroom. Every one of these attacks had passed, but I was still so terrified that this one would stay. That the lady in the lake was gonna stay. That I'd have to go to the lake and leave Jamie. That I'd have to hurt Jamie...

The bath helped a little. I wasn't feeling cold anymore, but I also wasn't feeling anything else. I sat in there for a little longer, trying to think of all the happy memories me and Jamie had made. I wanted Viola to leave more than anything else.

Suddenly I heard the door squeaking.
„Hey Poppins" Jamie whispered „Don't wanna interrupt your relaxing but I got you some tea."

I smiled. I already felt better. „Thank you Love."

It seems like the best remedy against Viola was love. Maybe she despised the idea of it so much that she didn't want to witness it at all. I hurried to get out of the bath and back to Jamie, hoping that that would make her go away for the moment at least.

I walked out and saw Jamie reading a newspaper while drinking her tea. „I'm feeling better already. What magic ingredient did you put into that tea?" I joked.

„A magician never reveals his secrets." She smirked at me. „I am so glad you're doing better. Do you wanna go for a walk now?"

The idea of going outside into the cold made the cold and emptiness become a little more present again. „I think I'm a little too tired for that. How about a movie?"

„Sounds good to me" Jamie replied. We sat on the couch, our feet entangled under a blanket, watching an old movie from the 50's.

Viola was leaving, I could tell. A tiny bit was still left of her, but I had come to terms with that, it was still better than the emptiness I had felt before.

„DANI!" Jamie shouted all of sudden. „LOOK AT THAT!!" She pointed at the window. There was a little bit of snow falling. It was a common occurrence where I grew up, but I knew that for Jamie, it was something special.

„It's snowing!" I replied, unable to be as enthusiastic as her.
„I've never had snow where I lived. Only when we were on holidays in the alps once. This is amazing!" She exclaimed,

„You're so cute when you're excited" I grinned at her. She gave me a bit of an annoyed look. She didn't like the word cute, but she was still happy.

I gave her a hug. She seemed very happy so I assumed it had always been a dream of hers to live in a snowy place.
„I love you." I whispered into the hug.

„I love you too." She replied. I pulled back a little so that I could see her face, but slowly leaned in again to kiss her. I could feel her lips smiling while we were kissing.

I couldn't wait for our first Christmas together.

I am incapable of actually writing something sad so I had to put at least some happiness into it.
