Chapter 24: Who Is Villain and Who Is Hero?

*LACEY'S POV*

Since Luke is still in LA, I'm spending time with my friends. I'm at the beach with Lola, Mindy, Shana and Jade. Since she still dates Calum, Sandra and Amelia refused to be friends with her. They asked her to break up with Calum, but obviously she said no. Mindy and Lola are in the sea, Shana and Jade decide to tan and I need something to drink. I'm going to the beach bar and I ask bartender for a glass of juice. "Hello Lace" I hear familiar voice from right behind me, but I can't recognize it immediately.

I turn around and see my ex-boyfriend Ryan standing there. "Hey" I say without any interest. "Hey, come on. Look, I know, I was an asshole and I probably can't undo what I did, but I still have feeling for you" he says and I raise my eyebrow. "Well, you should think about your feeling for me when you were cheating on me" I smash back at him. "Where's your boyfriend? I can't see him" wait, how does he know I'm with Luke? "I don't know what are you talking about. I'm single and I'm here with my friends" I say. Me and Luke are none of his business. He raises his eyebrow, "do you actually think I'm that stupid?" well, he's actually not... "I know you're dating that bad guy Hemmings" when he says bad, he makes quotes in the air. Damn it, what exactly does he want? "What do you want?" I ask to change the topic. "I thought you know me. I thought you're a smart girl" he says and make few steps closer to me.

I take few steps back. "Are you scared of me or what?" he asks and I shake my head. "I asked you what do you want" I say still control myself to not to slap his face. He starts walking towards me and I am walking backwards until the counter doesn't stop me. The I feel someone standing really close to me. Our bodies are against each other. I see him lifting his hand and it's getting closer to my cheek. I think he just wants to stroke. I don't think he would hurt me. At least not physically. When it almost touches my face, I see someone catch his wrist "leave her alone, she's mine." I can't see his face, because the sun is shining right into my eyes, but I recognize the voice.

*LUKE'S POV*

We come home one day earlier and I see this dickhead with my girlfriend. Whatever he was doing. I am running to them. I don't want him to touch her. I don't want him to say one more word to her. I run to them just in time. He wants to touch her, but it's not going to happen. I catch his wrist "leave her alone, she's mine" I say. He turns to me so we're facing each other. He twitches his hand so he escapes himself. He's now grinning at me. "Stop grinning at me or I'll punch you" I say and I mean it, but I don't want to Lacey see this. "Go ahead, it's not going to be first time when I'll beat shit out of you" he replies. Fuck. Yeah, we did fight few times before and yeah, he always wins. I don't know how is he doing it. "Oh, sorry. I forgot that your girlfriend probably doesn't have any idea how big asshole you really are" he says and then turns around and leave.

"What was that about?" I twinkle when Lacey asks me. "Nothing" I mumble and turn around to go back to Calum and the girls, but I'm stop by someone pulling my arm. "No Luke. I want to know what was that about. Please tell me" she begs me. I take her hand and drags her to the table and we sit down. "Okay, but you can't be mad about it" I say and she nods. "You promise?" I ask her. "I promise" she says and smile. "Well, it all started like 3 years ago. We used to be best friends, but once I went on a date with girl. She was the one who asked me and I agreed. And we were in the park when she suddenly kissed me, and that was the moment when Ryan was walking around us. He shouts her name and I didn't have any idea what's going, but then I found out she was his girlfriend and that she just used me to make him jealous, but he was thinking I asked her out just to make him mad. That was when we were fighting for the first time together. He was stronger that time, so obviously he won. And since then, he was flirting or having sex with every single girl I ever dated. Yeah, I admit it I ever wanted a revenge for all of this, so once when I saw you together walking on the street where I live, I was thinking about that maybe it's time for a revenge. But you made me fall in love with you. Yeah, I wanted to use you just for taking my revenge until I didn't realize that I have feelings for you" I finish and wait for her reaction.

*LACEY'S POV*

How is he expecting me not to be mad? He just told me he wanted to use me just for taking his revenge. Yeah, I admit that Ryan was an asshole and that what he did wasn't right, but this... This is like the nightmare. I don't know what to say. I don't know what to do. I'm just staring at him and can't believe what he just said. "Lacey?" he asks me really carefully "Lacey, please say something." I don't know, I need to think about this, I stand up and start to run. I run the group of people who I came here with, I pack my stuff take my back and run away. "Lacey, Lacey wait" I hear Lola shouting behind me, but I need to run. I have to run away from him.

*LUKE'S POV*

Well, her reaction could be much worse. She could start scream at me how big asshole I am, and that she doesn't want to see me ever again. But she just run away. I know she just need some time to think about it. I know when she makes a decision, she will come to me. All I have to do is hope for that she will decide to stay with me. Yeah, I got it, I probably did hurt her once more again, but I believe that our love is strong enough to survive this. It's better that she heard it from me than she would hear it from him or anyone else. If she will decide to never see my stupid face again, I'll understand. I'll be the one to blame.
