Chapter 35: The Beach

*LACEY'S POV*

It's been 2 weeks since I saw Luke for the last time. It was that time when he showed up drunk on our porch and said I'm a gold digger. I put a ring into the envelope and put it in their mail box. I don't know if he was home or somewhere, but I don't care. It's over. We're done. I'm seeing Daniel now, but we're just friends. I know he wants more, it's so clear, but he's not pushing me into anything. He's so nice, patient, caring and generous. I think my parents and even my friends like him more than Luke. I'm trying to forget about him, but it seems so impossible.

"Hey, how are you?" I hear the voice in my room. I'm lying on my bed and when I turn around, I see Daniel. "Hi" I say and shrug. "You want to go somewhere?" he asks. "Like where?" I ask back. "I don't know, you can choose the place" he says. "Okay, I'll think about it. I just need to change" I say and he stands up and leave. I put on my neon pink swimsuit, denim shorts, white t-shirt and pair of flip flops. I walk downstairs and see Daniel talking with my dad about football. "Excuse me..." I interrupt them. Daniel smiles at me "okay, let's go" he says and says goodbye to my dad. "I guess he likes you" I tell him when we walk out the door. "Yeah, he's a nice guy" I can't believe he just said my dad is a nice guy. But I guess the reason is that he actually never liked Ryan or Luke, so...

"Are we going on the beach?" he asks. "Yeah" I nod. "That's what I thought" he says and I laugh. We get in the car and go to the beach. We go on the Bondi Beach.

We're here for about two hours and since we came here, I feel like someone is watching us. I tried to look around but this place is kind of crowded and it can be anyone. No we're standing in the sea and I'm looking at Daniel. I try to resist to splash the water on him, but I can't. I fill up my hands with salted water and splash it on him. I start to laugh and he turns around with an angry face "hey!" he says and make his way to me. I try to run away from him but he suddenly grabs me from behind and holds me. I start to kick around myself, well, I mainly kick the water. "Let me go" I say and we both start laughing. Then he pulls me down and I turn to him. We look into each others eyes and sooner then I would expect to I've got his lips on mine. He's kissing me and I'm kissing him back.

*LUKE'S POV*

I'm staring at the couple. Okay they don't seem like one, but it's he and she. I'm look at them since I saw them come here. She looks so happy. Happy with him around her. Did she ever look like this when she was with me? What if she already forgot about me? I know I was a jerk and asshole the most of the time, but this doesn't mean I didn't love her. I did. And I still do. And I know I always will. I fucked up three chances. She got me three chances and I fucked up every single one of them. I can't expect her to always take me back. But now I wish. I have to do something about this. I'm looking at them. They're in the sea and she splashes the water on him. She's so cute and innocent. Like a little girl. My little girl. I jerk myself. They're kissing. Does it mean? No, she can't just move on. I refuse to believe what I see. This boy doesn't have any idea what he just started. He's playing with the fire and he will get burnt.

*LACEY'S POV*

"Are you okay?" he asks when he breaks the kiss. I nod "I've never been better" I say and I smile at him. "Great" he smiles at me too. "Do you want something to drink?" he asks and I nod. "Okay, let's go" he says and holds his hand to me. I don't hesitate for a second and I put my hand into his. Are we now together or not? We come to the beach bar. Daniel orders something but I'm not listening. I feel again that someone is watching me or us. I look around and then I catch the person who is staring at me. This pair of heavenly blue eyes are pulling me to him like a magnet. And I'm pretty sure it was him all the time. He was there before we came. He was watching us all the time. He saw that kiss. "I'll be right back" I say to Daniel and he nods.

"Can you please stop staring at us?" I ask the boy with those blue eyes. "No" he replies. "Please stop, I feel uncomfortable" I tell him. "That's not my problem. You should tell this to your new boyfriend" he tells me. "He's not a reason why I feel like this. You are" I say and point at him. "You replaced me really fast. Wow. I didn't expect that. You really surprised me" I raise my eyebrow. "What's the point?" I ask him. "The point is that you forget really fast about us. About everything what we did together, about what I did for you..." I cut him off "excuse me? What exactly did you do for me?" he just shrugs "think about it princess" he says and just leave me standing there. I'm looking at him while he's leaving. What the hell was that? Whatever, I'm going back to Daniel. "Everything okay?" he asks. "Yeah, I just" I don't even know what I should tell him, I don't want to lie to him. He doesn't deserve it. "Lacey, you're still not over him" he says. "I guess I'm not. I'm sorry Daniel" I tell him. "Hey, don't worry about that, okay?" he says and I nod. I look at him and he's smiling at me. I smile back at him.
