Finally

I knocked loudly on the door to the command room. I heard a man shout but couldn't make out what he said.

"It's me Clarke! I want to speak with your leader!" I yell through the door, hoping they heard me. Lexa was out of my sight but I knew she was close. The butterflies in my stomach grew and anxiety took over. I couldn't let my emotions stop me now though. I heard a few clicks from the door and a gun was pointed closely to my face. A frown grew on my face.

"Is that how how you greet someone around here?" I snapped at the soldier. He grabbed me by the arm and dragged me in. The two grounders followed closely and the door was slammed shut. I hoped Lexa made it inside.

"Well Clarke, it's nice to see you." Cage said.

"It's not nice to see you." I said flatly. He scowled but then a creepy smile made his way onto his face.

"What was it that you wanted to talk to me about Clarke? Ready to surrender? I could trade your life for the release of your people that I am currently still holding hostage." Cage stated. Boy, was he stupid.

"Or I could kill you slowly in the front of your precious commander and then cut off her head too." He continued. That made me angry. No one was cutting off her head today, I was going to make sure of that. Oh how I wish I could drive my sword, Lexa's sword, through his heart but then the plan would be ruined.

"You won't touch a hair on her head." I growled at him. I raised my voice slightly, to make it easier for Lexa to not be heard. There was only three others here and cage, and thankfully I had their pure attention. Their guns were pointed at me and the two grounders, watching our every moves.

"I can do whatever I want Clarke, and I will." Cage threatened. He cocked his gun and pointed at me. Gosh, how many times was that going to happen today? I raised my sword slightly in his direction.

"Yu gonplei ste odon!" I screamed at him. That was the code word for Lexa to attack. I ducked as shots rang out and saw her brown hair and body twirl in a frenzy. She had two swords and slashed two of the soldiers necks quickly then throwing one sword at the other guard. I saw Cage turn to Lexa, ready to fire his gun. She wasn't close enough to get him.

"Lexa! Duck!" I screamed. I ran towards Cage and i thrusted the sword into his back but not before two shots were fired. He fell to the ground, blood pooling out around him. I pulled out the sword but quickly dropped it as I saw Lexa on the ground, huddled in a weird position. I ran to her and got down on her level. I noticed black blood on her outfit.

"Lexa! Oh my god, are you hurt? What is this black blood?" I asked frantically. She looked up at me and I saw her clutching her arm. She smiled weakly at me.

"I'm okay Clarke." She stood up but winced in pain. I took her hand away from her arm and saw what looked like a bullet wound. It only had grazed her arm, so it wasn't too serious.

"You two! Go get some bandages and a medic quickly!" I yelled at the grounders behind me. Lexa nodded her head at them and they left. I put pressure on her arm, trying to slow some of the bleeding.

"Clarke, I said I was okay. It is only a graze." Lexa spoke. She spoke so gently and I about melted if I wasn't so worried about her wound.

"How are you so calm about this? You're hurt!" I stated. I looked at Lexa, making eye contact. She wasn't scared at all, only a small smile on her face. She was being so weirdly calm and it made me nervous.

"I told you Clarke, it's only a shallow wound. I have been through much worse." Lexa stated. I stared at her, hard. I tried to figure her out but for the life of me I couldn't. The guards came back with a medic and they took over working on Lexa's arm. Her smile went away and she sighed. It's like she didn't want to be fussed over. But, she let me fuss over her even for a short time. I waited for the medic to be done and saw how sloppy their bandaging job was done. I was going to fix that later. I picked up Lexa's swords that were scattered around the room. She put her commander sword back into her holster but couldn't put the other two on the holster in her back. She looked at me shyly.

"Do you think you could help me with this Clarke? It's hard to do with only one arm." Lexa teased. I grabbed her swords and gently put them into her holsters, trying not to cut her long hair. Her hair was very frizzled and her braids were all over the place. But somehow, she made it look good.

"Thank you Clarke." Lexa said.

"No problem Lexa." I replied. I dared to say her name in front of her guards but I didn't care. I wasn't disrespecting her by not calling her by her title. It's not like she cared about it that much anyways. Together, we walked down to ground level, the guards following close behind. We exited out through the main door and were met with the army. All heads turned to us.

"The last of the mountain men have been killed! The only survivors are our allies and those will stay within the mountain, never to bother us again. With the help of skaikru, they will get the help they need! Now, let's go home!" Lexa yelled to her warriors. They erupted into cheers and chanted heda. I felt relieved and glanced at Lexa. She stood tall and proud, as she should be. She caught my eyes and turned to me.

"Thank you Clarke, for all your help. My people are eternally grateful for your help in taking down the mountain. It's now time to return to your people and in due time we can arrange for a treaty after everything is settled." Lexa stated formally. Her mask was up once again. I felt nervous, I didn't want my time with Lexa to be over but I knew we had to get back to our people. At this point, I didn't even know if I wanted to go back to camp Jaha.

"Do you want your dagger back?" I asked. She shook her head no.

"No Clarke you may keep it." Lexa said. A smile didn't form on her lips and I was disappointed. I wanted to see Lexa, not the commander. She held out her arm towards me and I recognized this to be the ground handshake. We grasped our arms and stared deep into each other's eyes. Butterflies erupted all over my body at the contact but I tried to push them down.

"May we meet again." Lexa said softly, turning on her heel and marching away. She left rather quickly and I watched her go. Her people followed after her and I felt a wave of sadness fall over me.

"Come on Clarke, let's go home." Octavia spoke from behind me. I turned around and followed my friends back to camp. But, I looked back one last time, and saw Lexa in the distance, looking at me too. My blue eyes met her pure green ones, and I couldn't help but let a small tear fall down my cheek.
