While You Where Gone

Chapter 3

"Why would you do that?! WAKE HIM UP!!!!!!'

I groaned.

"Listen. I'm sorry. It's just a natural instinct for me."

My eyes slowly opened, I saw two faces looking down at me. Nano's and Rythian's. God I wished Rythian was a dream right now. But nooo....he was helping my up, and then we kinda bumped into each other. It was awkward to say the least.

"Err...so Rythian. I get you've met my apprentice Nano." I said. He nodded. "Duncan. Can we talk please?...alone?" I nodded and sent Nano away, I sat down on the couch in the room and he sat down as well. His eyes were back to the calm and ice blue.

"So Rythian...I didn't...Zoey and Teep...uh.." I'm a terrible conversational starter. He simply stared at me for a few seconds. What do you say to the guy that killed the love of your life and dinosaur friend that you haven't seen in five years?

"You didn't kill them. The Twilight Forest creatures did. We were so close too..." I stared at him. He didn't seem angry. Yet. "Rythian...while you've been missing...a lot of things have happened." Now it was his turn to go quiet and stare. It was as if his eyes were asking me to go on.

"There's this clone of me. And he's teamed up with Sjin to capture all "illegal magic" and it's ridiculous. But they have captured me. Nano and you...your pretty high of their list. Your their undesirable number one."

"I'm flattered."

"Don't underestimate them Rythian. They did things to me while I was in there. And I just-" I caught myself. "I don't want you...getting caught.. You did just get back after all!" He looks at me staring. "Alright. Anything else I should know?"

"If you need anything...I'll be in lab room. Nano will show you around." I get up and quickly go downstairs, my stomach feeling sick. I look to Nano, who's just simply eating a sandwich and petting Tiddles and Totoro.

"Hey Duncan-"

"Go show him around. I'll be downstairs." And with that I vanish down. But I don't go to my lab right away. Instead I walk outside to the Twilight zone. Sir Ramsalot comes over and looks to me. That's usually what I'm getting a lot today. Stares. I sigh and began to go down to my lab, thinking about what in working on and thinking about him. Rythian. I guess we could give him materials and send him on his way. But knowing Rythian(Like I do) he'll want to stay awhile.

I sighed and stopped, sitting down and closing my eyes. He was so..peaceful and calm she he slept. Now that I think about It, he probably followed the magic trail and it lead him here. I wish he wasn't here. It isn't safe. At all.

"Duncan?" I jumped and turned around, meeting Rythian's eyes. "What are doing here?" I as, trying to sound bitter. He crosses his arms, "What are you working on?" he asks. "Just some blueprints for defenses." I say. "Ah."

"I guess I'll be taking Nano's tour then?" he asks. I nod, "I'll give you some magic and building materials and food and tools, but that's all. Then your leaving." My voice cracking as if I dont want him to leave.

I can feel the air shift around us. Its uncomfortable. I dont like it and neither does Rythian. I quickly add, "We have a magic room downstairs. But beware the Devil. He's watching our reactor." he laughs. And I stop. Turning around and looking at him.

He quickly shuts his mouth, embarrassed. And make his leave.
