Peter and I probably only heard about 2% of the lecture that was given. We spent the entire period basically playing googlie eyes and laughing at each other's dumb facial expressions. At one point we actually got caught and we had to stop for a bit and that's probably the only reason we heard the 2% that we did.
After what seemed like an eternity the final bell rang signaling that second period was over and we all packed up our things and moved onto our next class. Lucky for me, Peter was waiting by the doorframe like he always did and was prepared to be a perfect fake boyfriend and walk me to my next class.
"So what did you think of the lecture, I really found it fascinating." Peter joked. I laughed at his sarcasm as we strolled through the hallways as if no one else were there.
"It was, yes I agree. Very intellectually stimulating." I laughed and he grabbed my hand and started swinging it around.
"So, you and Jennie are coming to sit with us today at lunch right?" he asked, almost hopefully. I shrugged and nodded.
"I guess so, if you want us to. I have to warn you though Jennie may very well try to hit on the guys. Wouldn't want you blindsided." I joked with Peter. He rolled his eyes and wrapped his arm around my shoulder and grabbing hold of my other hand. I thought it was a cute gesture and apparently so did the people around us. For the first time I listened to the whispers about us.
"Don't you think they're cute?"
"Do you think they're going to last?"
"Do you think they're really dating?" I heard someone ask. This one I paid close attention to. I heard someone else speak up right after.
"I would say so. I was walking to my class earlier and I passed them in some corner getting pretty hot and heavy. Who knows if they would have stopped if it weren't for the bell." The person answered. I immediately went bright red and sped up so we left that hallway a bit faster. Peter chuckled but followed with no questions asked.
"Well this is your stop. I hope you can survive the 20 minutes without me. Should you be needed me just know that I am simply one classroom over going through the same torture that you are." He joked. I rolled my eyes and leaned up on my tiptoes to peck him on the cheek. He smiled and looked surprised that I had done this.
"I know, I think I will be okay. I will see you for lunch dude." I winked and he smiled and walked into his classroom just as I did mine. I sat there bored out of my mind while Shakespeare was the hot topic for the next twenty minutes. Lunch couldn't come soon enough.
"Finally. I honestly hate my third period class more than school itself. And that's a lot." Jennie said to me as she caught up to me in the hallway. I laughed and rolled my eyes at her.
"Jennie you say that about every class you have." I chuckled. She smiled and shrugged as we walked. Not even five steps later I heard my name being called by none other than my 'boyfriend'. I smiled and turned around to find him weaving through everyone in the hallway to catch up to Jennie and me.
"Hey babe how was the time apart? Did you miss me?" he asked with a wink. I chuckled and nodded.
"Of course how could I not?" I joked with him. He smiled a bit wider and put his arm around my shoulder as we walked. Jennie coughed and he looked to her expectantly.
"Yes?" he asked her as if he wasn't bothered in the slightest by her staring him down. She huffed and rolled her eyes in annoyance at him as we walked. I laughed at the jealousy pumping through her veins.
