Chapter 8 - Camp

"Hello." Rin says. You give her a her a toothy grin but your stomach growls and you blush a bit, making your grin fall out of embarrassment.

"There is a river near by. Go get some fish. Jaken, go with them." Sesshomaru says. Jaken sighs and Rin takes your hand and you follow. You see a river and you roll up your kimono.

"I will get us dinner." You say and go in and wait. Being a cat demon meant you had good sight, you could even see at night. You caught a few fish and Rin held them. The last one was for you as you had gotten three already but you slipped and fell as you reached and grabbed one. You held up the fish though and bit into it, smiling.

"You stupid demon. Get out of the water!" Jaken yelled and you stood and walked out, soaking wet. He shook his head and you followed him and Rin back to the camp, the fish still in your mouth. Once back at camp, Rin started to cook the fish over the fire Jaken made and you ate your fish.

"How did you get wet?" Sesshomaru asks. You looked at him as you finish your fish and throw the bones in the fire.

"I fell in the river." You said. He gave a nod and a strong wind blew. It was getting cold and you shivered.

"I would remove the kimono part before you become sick." Sesshomaru said. You tilted your head.

"Sick?" You asked. Rin gave a nod.

"Yeah, its bad. You don't want to be sick." She said as she waited for her fish to finish cooking. You gave a nod and took off your kimono, completely.

"Not the under..."Sesshomaru said and you looked at him.

"Did I do wrong?" You asked and laid your Kimono on the ground to dry.

"Wrong? Your naked! How stupid could you be!" Jaken shouted. Your ears flatten.

"B-But Seshomaru..." You said but Seshomaru stood and removed the top part of his hakama and threw it at you. You put it on and wrapped it around you. His scent hit your nose, making you blush. He smelled nice.

"Just because I said to remove it did not mean to remove it all. That can lead to humans thinking your willing." Sesshomaru said and sat down again. You gave a nod. You weren't sure what he meant by willing, but it must be bad.

"I'm sorry. I'm still learning." You said, scared he will make you leave.

"And you will learn." He said. Rin gave a nod as she ate.

"Rin, after you finish, sleep." Sesshomaru said. She gave a nod and finished fast, moving over to you.

"Can I sleep with you?" Rin asked. You smiled. Shippo always slept with Kagome and you wandered what it was like. Kagome said it was like having a mother protect you, but that was something that you never had.

"Y-Yeah...if that's ok with Sesshomaru." You said and you both looked at him. He gave a small nod. Rin smiled and sat in your lap, leaning back. You hesitated, afraid it would scare her but you wrapped your arms around her, using the sleeves of Sesshomaru's hakama as a blanket for her.

"She's...She's so delicate. Are all human children like this?" you asked when you knew she was sleeping. Sesshomaru gave a nod.

"Humans are fragile. Their children even more so. Sleep." He said. You smiled and held her, closing your eyes, falling asleep.
