The sweet but bitter scent of blood struck him in the face. His eyes focused on grabbing every little detail of the room, he stepped further in fear. Something felt so strange but safe.
Felix pressed his tongue against the top of his mouth as he looked at the floor. The trail of blood went under the bed, showing a bluish light. Felix gathered his courage and bowed to look there. His eyes flowed with tears.
"Binnie... it's just me. You don't have to be afraid."
This voice. This deep, careful, and gentle voice.
A little touch, as if an angel had gently tried to tickle me. The tingling sensation on my skin continued, even though the impact was already gone. I thirsted for more.
The warm feeling in my chest continued as I felt it again. This time it was harder. The angel tried to pull me closer, grasping my skin and clothes as it depended on someone's life.
Now I was thirsty for information.
However, my eyes were closed and it seemed insurmountable to open them anymore.
Why am I even thinking about anything?
The gentle touch came back, caressing my hair, twirling it around. Like a spring breeze, it tickled my skin. I wanted more of it.
Changbin. You have to wake up now. If you don't open your eyes now, you will never open them.
But I am so at ease... I want to lay here...
There are people who need you. Always remember those who would be left behind.
Who? I have everything here.
Come to your senses! Do you feel that warm liquid on your cheek?
Yes... it's... um...
Tears Changbin... tears of your loved one...
Oh... Oh my god...
That's right. I have to go now. I know the time we had was confusing, but I hope you will remember me. Now open those eyes.
The light was way too bright. It stung my eyes. It took a while to get used to it. Someone was still stroking my hair. It was so reassuring that I would have liked to fall asleep. However, I knew what I needed to do. It was clear.
Quiet ticking filled my head as I tried to move. A wristwatch? It was so cold, but someone's body exuded warmth and peace.
"You're awake..."
"Yes, I am. Why is it so bright here?" I said, noticing how my voice was almost gone.
Movement. The warmth was gone, leaving me shivering on the cold floor. It came back and the lights were gone.
"Is that better?"
"Yes, thank you."
"Binnie..."
My eyes were now wide open as I turned my gaze to the person next to me, realizing what was happening. Felix...
"What's wrong? Are you hurt? Do you feel something?" Felix's eyes were full of shock as he moved away from me.
"Don't... Come back." I said, relaxing.
Why am I afraid of this. This is what I've been hoping for years. He sees me and I see him.
I reached my hand, placing it on Felix's knee. "Please stay here."
"Of course... I'm not going." Felix responded. "Please just tell me if you're hurt."
"I'm not... I'm just cold."
"Wait," Felix commanded, moving my hand away.
He got up, taking off his jacket and placing it over me. He smiled and sat back down, taking my hand and placing it on his lap.
"Better?"
"Yes, thanks... I feel a lot better."
"Binnie, I am so relieved that you're okay. I feared that you were going to die... But now, here you are, breathing, even smiling..." Felix said, his eyes focused on mine. "There's nothing I would regret more than not getting the chance to tell you how much I love you."
My head was spinning. What was he saying?
"Binnie... I love you."
