The next day on my way to work I run into Bailey. "Morning Dr.Bailey." I say. "Shut up."She says. Not what I was expecting but I definitely should have been. i'm confused. "I know i'm forgetting something." She says looking around. "Something is happening today and I just can't remember what it is." She continues looking around the streets. "Okay nice talking with you doctor bailey." I say as I begin to cross the street. Before I can even think bailey pulls me out of the way from a bunch of bicycles. "Now I remember." Bailey says. We struggled to get across the street and over to the hospital. Once we get inside bailey notifies the rest of the doctors about the Dead Baby Bike Race. You know what that means. Incoming. The patient Burke and I got needs an E.E.G and confirmatory tests immediately. Six hours and he must be declared brain dead. Stevens and Yang take over. After a while I walk past the room ejth the patient and Stevens is speaking about medical miracles. "Yes. Your right. Miracles happen. That's why we do a series of tests over a certain numbers of hours. that way when we call type of death we know we've done everything in our power." Stevens looks at me like i've done wrong. I walk out. As i'm leaving I see a patient kiss Meredith. I have to go joke. "What do you make out wjth patients now?" I laugh. "are you jealous?" She says back to me. I walk inside the room. "I don't get jealous." We discuss everything that has happened with us. "It's the chase isn't it. I've been wondering why you are so determined to get me to go out with you. Then I realized, it's the chase. You know your my boss. You know it's bad. So it's definitely the chase. It's a game to you." She says. I'm a little hurt. It's not the chase. It's her. I want her. She walks away. Meredith comes over a few moments later asking for advice with Burke. "You got to get a way to get the chief involved to get this your your way." She smiles. "Thank you." I smile back and she walks away. After a few hours it's time to go home.I walk into the lounge and to my suprise, Meredith is pinning Alex to the lockers. So many thoughts go through my mind. "She attacked me"Alex says. Meredith runs towards him to do it again i'm guessing. I pull her away. "Hey meredith. Meredith." She calms down. I turn to alex. "You know you better get out of here before I let her beat you with her tiny ineffectual fists." I walk alex out of the room ignoring his immaturity as I close the door. I sigh. "What?" I say as Meredith stares at me. "Nothing it's just." She pauses. "Nothing." She walks to the door. She pauses and looks at me. I head home and Get to sleep For the little time i have left. Today was an easy day. I walk back into the lounge. "What." Meredith looks at me. "You and me it is not the thrill or chase. It's not a game it's your tiny ineffectual fists. It's your hair. And your very, very bossy it keeps me in line." She smiles as I walk closer to her. "I'm still not going out with you." She says almost laughing. I smile. "You say that now." I walk out of the room on my way home. She seemed happy. I'm happy. I hope today was better for her than yesterday was.
