The next morning you were rudely awoken by Katie Bell at 6:30. "Come on Ash, Oliver wants us down at the pitch by 6:45 you need to get ready" she yawned still half asleep herself.
You groaned and moaned until you gave up resisting her and she pulled you up out of your bed. You stopped groggily over to your chest of draws and removed your quidditch from the top draw. Still half asleep you began to get dressed, placing your hair back with a messy French braid.
"Umm Ash you know you're backwards, right?" Katie questioned you as you emerged from your dorm. You huffed and tucked your arms out the sleeves and swivelled around your quidditch jersey.
You and Katie sprinted through the castle to the quidditch pitch. The cold air whipped at your face instantly waking you up. You looked over at Katie and gave her a smile before sprinting down the corridor "Oh its on Ash!" she yelled at you. You both entered the pitch late, sweaty and in fits of laughter.
"I don't know what you're laughing about girls you are 10 minutes late" Oliver scorned whilst raising his eyebrows at you both.
"Oh, lighten up Wood" you replied "It's the first bloody day!"
"Ashley do I look like I care what day it is, our match with Slytherin is coming up and I will not lose to them again!" he said in a very serious tone.
You decided to pipe down, not wanting to get kicked off the team for being arsey.
"Make a habit of this do you Baker" whispered Fred nudging you in the shoulder with his elbow.
"Oh shut it you, who doesn't love a good run every now and again" you giggled.
The rest of practice was rather boring, you all sat there listening to Oliver's newest ideas and game plans for the first 45 minutes meaning you only actually had 15 minutes maximum in the air before it was time for breakfast, although you were surprised Oliver allowed you all to leave and didn't keep you training all bloody day!
Entering the great hall, you felt a couple peoples eyes draw towards you and they Gryffindor team, some cheered from the Gryffindor table and on the other side of the room Slytherin's groaned and huffed. But there was only one set of lifeless, grey eyes you wanted to meet but you couldn't find them.
"Ash you coming to eat or just standing in the doorway" George laughed looking back at you.
Your face turned a light shade of pink and you scuffed your feet forwards to where Seamus and Dean were sat. Hogwarts breakfast was never really that good, it was always pretty plain. Toast with honey or jam and cornflakes. After five years it had become rather quite repetitive and boring. You nibbled on some toast and looked for your timetable.
"I can't find my time table guys who do we have this morning?" you questioned looking at dean and Seamus. They both shrugged looking at each other perplexed. "Oh for god's sake I don't even know why I asked like you two would have any clue" you laughed. You then leaned forwards and shouted down the table "Hermione!". She looked up searching for who had called her before meeting your eyes. "What do we have this morning?" you questioned.
"We have defence against the dark arts first with Professor Umbridge" she replied smiling at you hopefully.
"Since when were you two friends?" Seamus questioned looking between you both.
"what am I not allowed other friends now Seamus? Are you jealous?" you teased him giving him a light kick under the table
"what... no." he replied dismissively his cheeks flushing a light shade of red, "I just never took you as a, ya know, girl's girl".
You were just about to reply when you heard a ruckus just outside the doors of the great hall. A massive group of Slytherins, mostly first and second years, entered as if the were a swarm of bees all absolutely covered in silly string and flour. The hall erupted into laughter and you, Seamus, Dean and the twins all exchanged high fives. You hadn't laughed so hard in months and tears streamed down your face as you choked on the air entering your mouth.
After a while you went back to your meal and you were just taking a swig of your orange juice when you felt a light tap on your shoulder. You turned around and spat your juice out, re-immersing yourself in your laughter as there stood your older brother Jackson absolutely covered head to toe in flour.
"O-oh-my-go-go-god" you struggled to say trying to contain your laughter in order to speak. His face was so red with anger it only accentuated the white flour even more, he looked utterly ridiculous.
"I know it was you and your stupid blood-traitor friends ash, I will get you back, we all will. If not now on the quidditch pitch I will personally make sure of it I hit all my bludgers your way" he spat looking down at you.
You tried not to show your fear but secretly, deep down you were terrified. Even though he was on the Slytherin team you had to admit it, your brother was the best beater in the school and if anyone was going to put someone in the hospital wing you can bet your money it'd be him. Luckily, he didn't wait for a response and by the time you had processed his words he was gone. Oliver, however, looked absolutely furious that you had angered the Slytherin team.
