Jake's P.O.V.
I woke up and rubbed my eyes. I then sat up and glanced at the clock. I swiveled my legs over the side of the bed and walked over to the radio, sitting on the dresser. I turned it on and turned it up to full. I then walked over to the desk. I grabbed my reading glasses and opened my computer. I took a picture to send with Marcie when she went to visit Amie. I had covered up for the kidnapping with an easy story about how her aunts came to send her to a boarding school and someone had killed Amie's mother when I had come back to check if she was okay. When I looked back at the picture, I saw it had been taken later than I thought, because in it I was singing along to a song on the radio.
I smiled at my imperfection. Then I realized my hair was a mess and my eyes were sleepy. I walked out into the hallway and into the first door on my left. It was the bathroom. So I walked into the small bathroom and washed my face. I got my hair wet and ran my fingers through it as I walked back around the corner to my room.
I flopped back onto the bed and realized a new song had started. It was pretty catchy. I slowly sat up to it and danced as much as I could, sitting down. When the song ended, the radio station guy said the name of the song. I covered my mouth with both hands and started to cry behind my hands. The name of the song was "Amie."
Sorry for the short chapter. I'll try to make the next one longer.
