Being in high school sucks. Being an emo, self absorbed asshole doesn't help either. I may be a asshole, but at least I know it.
There's supposed to be a "new" kid in my grade today. He skipped because he's so smart. I know of him, He's basically the Van Gogh of music around here, Mariah Carey during the holidays. I just don't know him personally. He's supposed to be really upbeat. People like that drive me crazy. This kid is named Will, or something like that. I honestly only know this because the other kids will not shut up about it and I could not care less about Will. Besides, new kids never take notice of me. It's like they can't see me. Like I blend into the shadows. Sometimes, I wonder if that's the truth.
I walk into my first hour advanced math class and look at what is normally an empty desk as I don't work well with people. And there he is. Sitting in the seat. He turns and looks at me with a huge smile on his face, though his hair is a mess and his under eye bags are extremely dark. He extends his hand to me and says "Hi! I'm Will Solace!" Although, I can tell he just wants to sit back down and fall asleep. I quickly grab his hand, give it a shake, and let go, averting my eyes towards the ground and muttering a quick hello. He gives me a strange look. He then pulls a Monster energy drink out of his bag and pours it into his half empty coffee mug, mixing the coffee and Monster together with his finger. "I'm going to die." With that, he smirked at me and downed the whole thing in the minute before the bell.
