Nico POV
As class starts, Will slips a folded paper onto my desk and stares at me. I look at him barely making eye contact. He raises his eyebrows and I hesitantly put a hand on the paper. I open it. It's his schedule. On the schedule is a small post-it note with a note scrawled on it.
"Do we have any classes together?"
His handwriting is small but extravagant. As if he spends his summers at a camp for handwriting. His skin is tan enough to believe he spends his summer at some camp.
I take the schedule and look at it. I take a blue highlighter and highlight the classes we have together. 1st hour Math, 2nd hour AP Government, 5th hour Science, 6th hour Art, 8th hour Study hall. Fantastic, only three classes a day without Will.
Thirty minutes later, the bell rang to end class and I pack my things and walk out the door. I feel a tap on my shoulder and turn around to see Will.
"We're going have a lot of classes together," he says, "I might as well learn your name."
"My name?" I say
"Yeah your name. What do people call you? It can't just be death boy."
"I suppose my name could be Death Boy, Will."
"Fine then, Death Boy" he says smirking.
"My name is Nico... Johnson."
My real last name is Di Angelo, which translates from Italian to The Angel. I mean considering how people have always seen me as "death boy" letting them figure out what my real last name is just doesn't seem like a good idea.
"Alright, Nico Johnson. I'll remember you. Come on now. We don't want to be late on my first day." Will says.
