Chapter 8

Loki POV

Loki heard something fly right where his head had been not two seconds before, and then bang as it hit the wall, he looked back to see the bowl and fruit all over the floor and he turned and continued to walk away. That had not gone how he had wanted it to, he had wanted to be kind and loving and instead his anger had gotten the best of him. It was like their first few interactions all over again, stubborn, determined woman wouldn't listen to him, he only wanted what was best for her. He loved her, Gods he hadn't even had a chance to tell her or tell her how much he'd missed her. Loki paused considering going back. No, best to let her calm down before trying again.

He sank shakily on to a couch, near where Barton was rubbing the hell hounds belly. "Hey did you ask her what his name is?" Barton asked, "It didn't come up," Loki answered as he stretched out and covered his head with his arms. "Went that well huh?" Barton chuckled. "I would rather not talk about it." Loki snapped. Barton walked away in the direction of Banners lab when the hell hound raised its self up to look at him, "Her good will is the only thing keeping me from ending you, go away." Loki said without moving. The dog lowered its self down only to ignore him and jump on the end of the sofa and settle himself on to his feet. Loki began to relax and soon drifted off to sleep.

Eloise POV

Eloise paced around the cell. Her magic was beginning to undo the magic on the chains, it wouldn't be long till she would be able to break them and leave the cell. The problem would Bilgsnipe, he wasn't with her and she didn't know the area well enough to try to reappear there, she might appear on top of someone.

She leaned down and picked up the water bottle, looked it over before downing it, she regretted throwing the bowl now, but damned if she wasn't going to do something to that high handed asshole, thinking he would keep her here. She held the slight bump on the lower part of her stomach. "Don't worry baby, I'll do what ever I have to, to keep you safe."

Loki POV

A few hours later...

"WHAT IN THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU ALL?!?!" Loki startled awake to find Pepper yelling at Tony, Thor, Steve, Banner and presumably him. He groaned, last thing he wanted to deal with was another screaming angry woman. As he got up he realized the hell hound was still asleep at his feet, maybe this is why she like the beast, Loki thought to himself.

"YOU HAVE LOCKED UP AND CHAINED A PREGNANT WOMAN UP?!?!? ARE YOU ALL INSANE?!?!? HOW INHUMANE ARE YOU ALL!!!" Pepper continued her tirade, Loki stood up, "She is my wife and I will have her be safe. I gave her the option to be freed as long as she agreed, not to vanish and not to hurt anyone. She wouldn't agree. " Loki petulant crossed his arms, gazing at Starks strawberry blonde fiancée. "Of course she isn't going to agree! She has no idea who any of you are, you just drugged her, kidnapped, chained her, and locked her in a cell? Do you think you sound trust worthy?! She's probably terrified!" Peppers words made Loki's stomach drop. He hadn't considered this, he assumed she would understand he would never hurt her. He exchanged guilty looks with the others.

"Did any of you even think to offer her something to eat or drink? " Pepper asks, calming down, "I did but she threw it at me." "I did but she wouldn't touch it." Loki and Steve spoke up at the same time. Thor added "I too took some sustance to Lady Eloise, the bowl you left had been pushed back," Thor addressed Steve, "She admitted she is hungry but reluctant to accept food brought to her. " "Thats it I'm putting a stop to this," Pepper stomped away down the hallway to the cells. Oh dear, this won't be good.

Eloise POV

Someone is shouting. Eloise stood up and moved closer to hear what's going on, she faintly heard "chained up pregnant woman" and grins, apparently someone, a woman by the sound of it, didn't agree to this. Eloise darted back to her cot and resumes her position, as she heard the sounds of several people getting closer and all of them talking. A tall, thin, well dress strawberry blonde woman strided into the room and immediately began pushing buttons that would open the door. "Pepper I don't think... I really wouldn't... Maybe we should discuss this first..." Pepper locks eyes with Eloise and ignored all the men who followed her into the room, as soon as the cell door opens she darted in, " I am so sorry, I had no idea they were actually going thru with this until a few minutes ago, I apologize for these idiots. Is there anything we can do for you?" Pepper addressed Eloise, who is staring at her with her mouth slightly open. "Ummm I could really use a trip to the bathroom and maybe some food, I'd like to fix it myself if you don't mind, forgive me if I don't trust them to fix it, they've drugged me twice today." Eloise states matter of factly and began to get to her feet, and Pepper reached forward and grasped her hand and smiled at her. Pepper guided her out of the cell and past all of the men who followed her, they both ignore them as Pepper directs her to the nearest restroom. As soon as the door shuts Pepper rounded on the men, "LEAVE HER ALONE NOW, SCATTER."She hissed.

Loki POV

Loki remained standing in the hallway, having the grace to look at least a little embarrassed. "Oh no, you too, I don't care what relationship you think you have with her. You at the very lease going to let her get some food and rest before you try and talk to her again. Go before I make you." Pepper snarled at him, staring him down. "What are you going to do mortal?" Loki hissed back, "Tony, where is my taser?" Pepper turned and started walking out to where Tony and the other avengers were gathered. "Fine. Food and rest but then I will talk to her." Loki hastily retreated passed Pepper, his hands held up in surrender.

Thor was grinning at Loki as he came in to the living room, "I see Lady Potts has discovered your dislike of electricity brother." "You told her?" "But of course, the lady was concerned about how to manage you if I was not here."

Eloise POV

Eloise peeked out of the bathroom door, "Are they gone?" She shyly asked Pepper, "Yes, I've told them to give you some space. Come on follow me to the kitchen, or we can order you something..." Pepper said, heading off to the kitchen, "After that we'll organize a shower and some clean clothes and I imagine you'd like to lay down for a while. Bruce said you were injured? I don't see any obvious injuries but we can go visit him, to have you checked out or another doctor if you'd like?" Eloise looked down at her shoulder, there was a pink puckered scar that looked like it was fading fast and she reached up to touch her cheek where there should have been a cut, but there was only smooth skin. "How does my face look?" Eloise asked as they entered the kitchen, Pepper turned from where she was standing at the massive refrigerator, "Fine why do you ask?" She answered, sounding puzzled. "Cause this morning I had bruises, a broken nose, a cut across my cheek here," gesturing as she spoke," and I was stabbed here. I was attacked yesterday re-entering my apartment. "
