#GospelReflectionChallenge'Be watchful, be alert!'
Today is the New Year of the Church’s Liturgical year! Today is Advent Season.
The Lord is coming! Bukas na ba ang pintuan ng iyong puso? ❤️
Today's gospel, Jesus want us to be alert and watchful. In the past months, we have experienced a lot of tragedies and crisis: the pandemic, strong typhoons, flood and earthquakes. But most of all, one of the heart breaking we can experience is that one of the family member will leave us on earth. Nakakapanlambot, nakakapanghina, nakakalungkot. Wala na yung isang taong sobrang bait sa amin. Yung nakakabiruan namin at nahihingan ng kung ano. Hindi naging madamot sa lahat ng bagay. Huhuhu (I love youuuu Tito Larry! You will be missed and always remembered in our hearts!)
However, the Lord promised to us that He will be with us always (Matthew 28:30) and thus, we must fear nothing. We HOPE in this promise of God, we just need to TRUST God. HOPING is TRUSTING! You cannot HOPE if you DO NOT TRUST. TRUST God and Hold On, Pain ends (HOPE)
Trivia from Seminarian's Notbuk!
Advent comes from the Latin word, “adventus” which means “coming”. Advent is a season of “waiting”. We are waiting for the coming of our Lord in Christmas to enter in our life, in our hearts. Advent season is composed of 4 Sundays and these are represented in the 4 candles on the Advent wreath. Each Sundays has its own specific theme for the celebration. Today, as we wait for the coming of the Lord, we are called to reflect on the theological virtue of HOPE.
