Melanie's POV:
" What?! You can't be serious?! Where have you read that?!" I was furious about what my sister Annie just told me. Apparently she had read somewhere that I am cheating on Thomas with Michael Miller. Ooh please! He's like Lizzy's nephew. I went to dinner with her and her nephew. I don't even know the guy. Why would they wrote those things? Clearly there are people who are trying to split us up, but that ain't gonna happen! Thomas and I have been dating for 5 months and we are happy. Still there are people who want to meddle in our lifes. Why can't they just leave us the heck alone?! I'm freaking angry at this very moment.
" I-I have seen it on the internet. I'll show you." Annie went over to her laptop and search up where she had found that crazy article.
A few minutes later, Annie called me over.
" Let me see." I pushed Annie a bit aside so I could read the article.
This is so crazy! They put things on the internet and newpapers of things they assume is true, but they aren't sure it is true.
They are so trying to ruin my life. Again! Seriously?! When is somebody going to leave us alone and let us live our lifes?! It's driving me nuts.
After I've read the article, I walked away from the laptop furiously.
" They are trying to give me a bad name and make Thomas break up with me! They want to ruin my relationship! For the first time I'm happy with a guy and they want to mess it up! Why don't they leave me the heck alone?!" I yelled. Tears were streaming down my face.
Annie came over to me. She laid her arms around my shoulders and pulled me in a hug.
" Heey.. Calm down, Mel. First thing you need to do is talk to Thomas. He knows you more than anyone, he knows you won't do that to him. Find him." She talked softly and it seemed to help to calm me down a little.
I nodded as I rubbed my tears away.
" Everything will be okay. You guys are a strong couple. I'm sure nothing will break you two apart." She tried to comfort me. And believe me, it helped a bit. She's right. I need to talk to Thomas first.
" Thomas is home right now. I should go." I said. Annie nodded.
I left the house. I can only hope that Thomas knows that it is just a rumor. He must know that I wouldn't do that to him.
Thomas' POV:
" Melanie is here!" I heard Ava sream.
" Okay! Let her come upstairs!" I yelled back. She's actually coming on a right time. I just had read something on the internet about her 'cheating' on me. I really don't believe what they write, really. 'They' think I don't fit with Melanie. Few people had made me clear of that. So they are just trying everything to make me break up with her, but that won't work. Honestly, I love Melanie. I'm happy with her. Why can't they be happy, if I am?
Melanie entered the room. I smiled at her. She came sitting next to me on the bed. She looked a little nervous. I wrapped an arm around her shoulder and pressed her to my side. I kissed her temple.
" Heey.. You okay?"
She nodded. "Sure.."
I know she isn't, but shrugged it off. I'm going to let her for a little while. I know she'll tell me eventually.
About an hour later, Melanie was reading in a magazine. I was scrolling through my mails on my laptop.
I noticed her look at me once in a while, biting her lip. I know something's wrong and I'm guessing it has something to do with the rumor. Clearly she thinks I don't know or read it yet. I turned my chair and face her.
I sighed. Her eyes were staring in mine. " Look, Melanie.. I read that article and you should know that-"
I got interrupted. Melanie jumped of the bed and panicked. " It's not true, Thomas! You don't have to believe everyting they write. I just joined Lizzy, because she didn't want to go alone with him! I was just waiting with that guy untill Lizzy came out of the restaurant. I swear nothing happened! I wouldn't do that to you! Why would they-" I cut her in midsentence.
I wrapped my arms around her shoulders and hugged her tightly. " Heey heey.. calm down. I was going to say I don't believe what they write either. I know you more than anyone. I know you are sweet and you wouldn't do that to me."
Her face was burried in my chest; her arms wrapped around my middle. " I-I love you.. Wh-why would they write that?"
" I love you too, Mel. And I think I can give you an answer to that one." I answered.
She looked up at me; confused. " What might that be then?" She asked.
I sighed. " People had made me clear on premiers that they don't think you and I fit. So I guess they are just trying everything to make us split up. But you don't need to worry, I will never leave you." I kissed her gently on the lips.
A weak smile appeared on her face. " Nothing will break us."
" Nothing." I answered. " I love you so bloody much, I could never leave you."
" And I love you too, so god damn much. I would never hurt you. I need you."
We smiled at each other. We both don't need to panick about it anymore. We will have to fight against those rumors, I know. But whatever they say about her, I'm not going to believe it.
Melanie's POV:
I was laying down on my bed that night. I smiled while staring at the ceiling with my arms under my pillow. I'm home alone tonight. Annie is over at her boyfriend's place and my parents are away for the weekend. Thomas said that he would come over for the night. I'm so glad we talked about the article. I know he wouldn't believe it, but still I was a little scared to face him about it. I'm happy we cleared things. I know we will have to fight against the rumors and the paparazzi, but I know we'll manage. We are a strong couple, like our friends and family say. We can get through this. We have the support from each other and from our loved ones.
As long as we have each other, nothing bad will happen.
I heard the doorbell rang and rushed downstairs. Thomas is here.
I opened the door and wrapped my arms around his neck; pulling him in a gentle kiss.
He smiled and entered the living room. I locked the door behind him.
We laid down on the couch. He wrapped his arm around my middle. We decided to watch a movie that was on tv right now.
As I lay down in his arms, I know that he is the one for me. Thomas and I are meant to be. I know it for sure.
