November 1st, 2024 Floor 1: Town of Beginnings

It was a day after Yui had collapsed, and the trio were sitting inside the Church turned Orphanage. It was a large and rustic building, the owner Sasha had turned it into Aincrads one and only orphanage. Inside the children were eating their breakfast and gossipping with sound loud enough to rival a gunshot.

"Wow... I had no clue there were so many kids in Aincrad..." Kirito said in disbelief.

"Yeah it's been like this pretty much every day for a while. By the way, is Yui feeling any better?"

"Well she got a full nights sleep and some grub so i think she'll be fine -looks over at Yui-. I don't know, what do you think?" Kirito asked.

"Well has anything like this ever happened to her before?"

"We have no idea. Ya see, we found her wondering on floor 22 in the middle of the woods. The poor thing, she lost her memory. That's why we came here..." Asuna explained as Yui handed her a loaf of bread.

"... We thought maybe someone in the town of beginnings might know who she is -Pats Yui's head-."

"You live here. Have you ever seen her before?"

"Hm... no. I'm sorry I haven't. I mean there are a lot of Kids in town, but I've never seen her -looks over at children eating-. When the game started, a lot of the children suffered severe psychological trauma. I couldn't stand by and do nothing so I moved to this church and made it a safe place for them to live. I walked through town everyday looking for kids like these, kids who might need my help. But in all this time, I've never seen her before." Sasha explained.

"...Back to square one..."

Before the conversation could continue a loud knock interrupted them.

When they opened the door they were met with a tall woman, she had bright blue eyes and dull silver hair, and she was bearing an army uniform.

"Sorry to bother you, Im Yulier."

"And you're with the army, right? I hope you're not here to start trouble because of yesterday." Asuna asked.

"God no. In fact i'm here to thank you. You did right by putting those men in their place. Actually, i came here to ask you for help."

"Seriously?"

Whilst confused, the trio decided to hear what Yulier had to say. They brought her to the back of the church in a small tea room, where Sasha poured them all some tea, besides Yui who opted for milk.

"When the guild was formed, we... we'll actually, it was our leader, Thinker. He never wanted it to turn into the kind of dictatorial organization it has become. At first, the mission of the guild was to share information and food equally among as many players as possible."

"But then the guild over extended itself, it's like Rome all over again." Kirito said.

"Right. And after much infighting, one man became very powerful. His name is, Kibaou."

Hm... why does that name seem so familiar... OH, right! He was the guy who interrupted the first floor boss meeting... the day i met Asuna. Kirito thought to herself.
