"Sam? You awake?" mom called out knocking at the door. Samantha's room is probably the messiest room in LA. Clothes all over, shoes lying at the other end of the room, clock ringing louder every minute. Huh! it's a mess. Pushing away the ringing alarm clock, Sam wakes up. She gets up and opens up the window.
"Oh it's a sunny day! Wait a minute? Did I see the same thing in my dream? Is this a déjà vu?"Samantha? What happened? It's a good day today. Freshen up and get going. School won't wait for you. You wanna be late on the first day of school?"
"Okay mom. Is it necessary to scold your own daughter the moment she wakes up?" Sam says, slamming the door hard, leaving the room the way it was since last week – messed up!
Looking at the mirror, she thinks about the dream that entered her subconscious last night. She pulls out a shirt from her closet and wears it hurriedly. She grabs her bracelet and wears it on the way downstairs.
"Mom? I'm leaving for school"
"Oh dear, your breakfast?"
Moving out of the door, she replies, "I'm not hungry right now, I'll think about it after class!"
She moves out of her apartment and sees her best friend Amanda, rushing, panting on her way to school."Hey! Amy!"
"Sam? You late again?"
"So are you girl."
"Well, yeah. By the way, nice shirt"
Sam was dazzled. She remembers hearing the same thing from the guy in her dreams.
The voice of that guy echoes in her mind."Amy, did you hear that?"
"Hear what Sam?"
"C'mon are you nuts? Don't tell me you didn't hear the boy's voice?"
"Boy? Sam what are you talking about? There's obviously no one around us because we are late to school. You're just hallucinating!"
"That reminds me of something. We're late for school"
As she reaches school, she gets a bit depressed as she does not find anybody out in the corridors, obviously because she was too late. She was much more depressed as she came with great expectations to find that guy from her dreams. She came to the spot where he was expected to come. She touched the walls of the corridors where he walks through in her dreams. She is still too determined that he would come walking through.
"Sam," shouted Amanda, pulling her arms in a hurry, "What are you waiting for? Is there anybody expected? C'mon hurry up before Mrs. Simmons sees us out here. She is old but still, ruthless."
"Did someone said 'ruthless'?" asked a voice. The voice was of an old woman but mostly was more masculine. "Did I hear somebody say Ruthless?"
"Looks like we're busted." Amy whispered in Sam's ear.
They turned around and saw an old, angry and cruel face staring at them. The staring eyes were surely terrific. Grey hair, small nose, library glasses and the fluent English speaking. Reminds me of a typical librarian or a super strict teacher. And there she was; Mrs. Simmons; I've heard students calling her 'Mrs. Grudge'. She might be looking old but has great and deep voice. Students spread rumors about Mrs. Simmons and Albus Dumbledore training together.
"Ms. Amanda Williams and Ms. Samantha Philip, why are both of you out of your classes with your bags on your shoulders? Trying to bunk another lecture? I expect to see you in detention after school hours.""But ma'am, we just reached late to school"
"Late? Both of you are out of your divisions with your bags on your shoulders even though the lectures have started and here you are standing in front of me with pride saying that you're late? That adds up a few hours to your detention"
"But, ma'am,"
"No arguments! Return to your class. See you in detention." Saying so, Mrs. Simmons leaves the corridor.
"She is a grudge for God's sake. I just hate her so much."
"Alright Amy, let's head back to our class."
